I keep mine short. I can't stand for them to be long at all. They are lucky if they get above the finger. I moved recently and we lost the clippers so I had to go weeks without them and I thought I was going to die. It is like having a second skin or something.

I would normally wait till they look like they needed cut, so pretty much, I wait till they grow to around 5 millimeters and they cut them, mostly I do that because I don't really want long nails on my fingers / toes.
