The title is pretty self explanatory. Lets get a list of the saddest movie deaths. Since this can give major spoilers if you haven't seen any of the movies that get listed here, read at your own risk. What was the movie and who was the character that died? If you want, go ahead and post a link to a video of the scene.

For me, one of the saddest movie deaths had to be the execution of John Coffey in The Green Mile. This scene could not have been done better, and the actors did a phenomenal job. This scene is one of the very few that can still get me.

rcarter2 : I think I'm going to have to agree with you on that one.
When John Coffey died, it was an extremely moving moment. To see such a kind good hearted person wrongly accused like that, Its enough to make anyone feel for the guy.

Spoiler:
Rue's death in the Hunger Games. Rue was my favorite character, and with the music and the emotion in the sequence, they did a great job at making it emotional.

I know this sounds really stupid, but Marley from Marley and Me. I honestly don't really care when humans die in movies. But when a dog dies, I bawl like there is no tomorrow ;'(

None comes to mind right now, but when I was younger I thought entei''s death in pokemon was sad, and later on I felt sorry for the green goblin's death in spiderman (He was crazy so it wasn't really his fault that he was evil).

I don't care what anyone says, skin color doesn't determine your personality, taste in music movies, ect.

When Magda Goebbels kills her kids in Der Untergang (Downfall) especially the one who seemd to be old enough to realise what is going on before she sedated her. That kind of... stopped me.

I've got two:

Mufasa in Lion King. You guys know you freaked out when you were a kid. I certainly did!

Sam the dog in I Am Legend. It really tugged at your heartstrings to see Will Smith's last living friend die in such a tragic way, even if it was just a dog. I know I almost cried.

I have to say Mufasa from the Lion King because of how he died. I just think that it is so sad because of the whole I will always be with you. Look up Lion King In 5 seconds for the refrence.

Have to agree with you on that one Barathemos haha. I will also say Dumbledore from Harry potter, there are a lot of characters in that movie that when you read the books and then watch the movie, you become attached to them. And when I read it in the book of the half blood Prince I couldn't believe it, of all characters Dumbledore? Harry had so many questions he had yet to ask him. I also did not like the death of Ironhide in Transformers Dark of the moon. I hated Sentinel's character, what a traitor. Glad Optimus killed him, I liked it when Megatron turned and started shooting him. Dumb Sentinel.

The shock factor numbed the sadness for many people, but for me William Costigan was too courageous/honorable for me not to be saddened by his unceremonial death in The Departed.

Jaws.
I was rooting for the shark.
The Predator Flix.
I was rooting for the Monsters.

Death does not have to be dramatic to be interesting in movies.

After I got forced way too many times to watch a weep-a-thon chick-flick with my girlfriends???
I will never feel a thing for any character in a flick. I was so annoyed at the practice of women watching shows that they know are going to make them cry and eat ice-cream. I am opposed to the practice and the art of people being too sensitive for fictional characters.

I can not feel anything for movies I used to care about.
"Saving Private Ryan". I used to feel something when one of them cries for Mama. Now? Nothing.
"BraveHeart". I used to feel something when the oldman (the guy that looses a hand) kicks the bucket. Now? Nothing.
"Gladiator". I used to feel something for this show. Now? Nothing.
"Blown Away". The Scene with the oldman on the playground.? Nothing.

I can go on and on with the list but you get the idea by now. After getting your other half back to normal after a weep-a-thon chick flick?
Nothing will ever move you ever again.

Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.

One of the worst for me was Dead Poets Society. The movie was finally getting enjoyable, then he had to go and kill himself. After that everything fell apart. If it wasn't for the very last scene, I would have been so depressed about the end.
