Mine is Kutless. They used to be so awesome! I thought of this while posting in another thread. Kutless used to be so real, but when modern Christian music started moving towards "worship music" (I use that term loosely. most stuff labelled that is NOT worship music), Kutless fell prey to the growing trend of empty repetitious music. Sure, they have a nice message sometimes, but must we devote every single album to pleasing the masses by conforming to their like of saying the same messages over and over again? I blame Chris Tomlin! xD Seriously though, has anyone else experienced this with their artists/groups? It doesn't have to be Christian music.

For me it'd have to be System of a Down or Linkin Park. They both started pretty heavy metal, till they started getting a bit "poppier" (As described by Lazlo Falconi, which I now agree with after rehearing the music).

These answers are making me think my old friend was right: good taste is the enemy of good art. Basically once these guys get popular, they begin catering their writing and style to please the crowds. Sad to see such writing talent be flushed down the drain like that.

I'll agree  with Eirinn about Kutless. I still like the newer stuff, but it's just not the same. I'd prefer them to make the faster stuff they used to make. There are plenty of artists that make slow Christian music, so they should give us some faster stuff. But I can't say I totally agree with you, because I like Chris Tomlin.

It all went downhill after the album with "What faith can do" came out. Was it believer maybe? Anyway, before that, their lyrics were alot deeper. Now it just feels like surface meanings and clichés. They aren't bad, they just aren't as good as they used to be. As for the change, Jon-Micah even said they were doing it because "it affected more people", unfortunately, a song being more popular seems to mean it touches more lives to them I guess.

I may be too hard, but I am disappointed with the change.
