In pokemon emerald the hardest gym I ever fought with is Tate and Liza the psychic type gym leader. I hated them, they destroyed me like 3 times until I actually made a battle stradegy then I pwned them.

In Emerald, I remember having a really tough time beating winona with my sceptile since it did not know ANY good moves at the time. If I remember correctly, Slaking, Beautifly, Torkoal, and a Sceptile.... This was before I was actually decent in pokemon so no wonder why my pokemon were so crappy. You can obviously tell that a trainer has no real experience if they have a pokemon like beautifly on their team

Yes Tate and Liza was hard as well as Winona as well but in my opinion the hardest was Norman that battle took strategy for me and even when I managed to win I had one Pokemon left with little to no hp left his slaking's power was incredible.

I'm going with everybody else here. Liz and Tate were definitely the hardest. Their Pokémon have great moves, high levels, and they have full restores   Lots of them too. Once I get to this point, then I know I need to start some serious training. The second one, the fighting gym, is pretty hard too. Even with a Taillow, it's pretty hard.

(I apologize for intruding on your poll but....) I'm gonna have to go ahead and ask.

It seems like everyone is always talking about Pokemon Emerald. Is this version better than all the others? Is there something special about it that no other game has? I only ask because I've played Gold, Yellow and now Crystal, and still all I ever see people talking about is Emerald.
So, am I really missing out by not having gotten to this game yet?

i think the hardest gym is the 7th or 8th. the 8th is actually easy but his kingdra makes it so hard especialy if you started with treeko. the 7th gym is hard because the pokemon know really powerful moves like earthquake and solar beam.
