The biggest fail I had experienced in Pokémon was when I was out trying to catch Pokémon for my national pokedex in Pokémon black 2 version and I spent over a hundred hours trying to find Pokémon in a certain grass area that I later found out was glitched and that you couldn't find Pokémon in it.

Okay I have to big fails that count for me, one time I was caching the legendaries in Pokémon light platinum on vizzed and I go into the cave that has registeel and I go to attack it and on its first turn it used roar 3 times after I used the save state and it disappeared and never showed back up again. Another time is when I ran into a shiny haunter with no pokeballs and I never saw it again. As for moves that are pointless I dislike rest because you may gain full hp back but you are vulnerable for 2 turns, I hate roar which is pointless, and I also hate moves like protect tat the other Pokémon uses to defend themselves and waste your precious pp! I also hate recover and any move that gains health back and they can use it a lot and waste your pp.
