Back in the days of the NES and SNES, there was chiptune and music for those consoles, which were awesome. But now, we have more advanced technology, able to play anything. Lots of games have used new songs, or even original songs in their areas.

What's your favorite video game song?

It can be original or just featured in a game.

My favorite original would be either "Want You Gone" by GlaDOS/Jonathan Coulton from Portal 2, or "Flip a Switch" by Chris Ballew from Quantum Conundrum. My favorite non original is "Ain't no rest for the wicked" by Cage the Elephant from Borderlands.

I think my favorite would have to be the menu music for Halo. I mean, it is just so original. I actually went out and bought the Halo 4 soundtrack, and downloaded the extra songs that came with it.

The music the Persona 3 and Persona 4 are amazing, as well are the games themselves. Touhou definitely has a good soundtrack(those trumpets man!).I also can't leave out Cavestory, especially if your into old school chiptune style soundtracks. Skyrim has a nice soundtrack, my favorite being Secunda.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 has great opening themes for all 4 of their openings.
Enter the Matrix the Path of Neo. Has a few great Tracks.
Goldeneye Rouge Agent has allot of Great Tracks.
Crackdown2 has one Great track that is Good. (Only one song for the whole game too. Bad Idea. But still a good tune.)
Nobody liked Mercinaries 2 (I think I am the only person that got the thing for $5.00 bucks. You should see the reviews it got.) But they did have a few good tracks.
Darksiders has a few good tunes if you are into the over the top opera style with heavy war drums.
Metal Gear Solid Series has always been cool too.

Picking out a favourite is hard though.
