So, how involved do you believe God is in our lives? Do you think He'd deciding our every action? An example of this: God deciding we need to eat, deciding which foot should step first, ect. Or do you think He doesn't care? Do you think He's just like "Whatever, it's his/her life". Or do you think that He's set a course for our life, and allows us freedom to make decisions on our own?

I personally believe He's involved in our lives, but doesn't make every decision for us. I think He cares about us, and (when He deems appropriate) answers prayers. I think God created us free beings, not robots.

I do NOT believe in predestination. If God moved us all around like puppet strings, why would He have gone through the pain of giving up His only Son?  It would have been pointless.  God loves us too much to set us in some prison of His own design.  If every motion and breath we took was because God commanded it to be so, there'd be no joy in watching His creations live and grow.  There'd be no point in establishing laws or consequences either.

Did God wake me up this morning?  I believe that it was by His grace that I opened my eyes and took that first wakeful breath on this day.
Did God tell me exactly where to place each foot as I climbed out of bed?  I believe God guides my footsteps daily.

There's a fine line to draw.  God doesn't treat me as a toy for His amusement.  He advises us with the Holy Spirit and steps back to see what we will do with those little urges.  He gives us free will, so that there may be glory in seeing others walk in the way of God.  If He did not give us options, there would be no room for love and pride and victory.

mister sandman :  Please stay on topic and don't offer insults.  Not only is what you posted off topic, but mrfe didn't ask for a debate, either.  He simply asked what everyone thought on the subject.  It's fine for you to say "I don't believe this," but it's something different to say  "Here's this... read it... your pastor doesn't know what they're talking about and you should study your own religions."

I always felt God wouldn't be what some would call a puppet master over us, but our watching father. He watches over us, and trusts we'll make the right decision in certain situations.

If you believe in the omniscience of God, then he already knows our thoughts and actions before we think or do them.

He doesn't control our actions, but he will guide us.

That to me is is somewhat difficult to understand, but I see it as a friendship between a finite being and an infinite God.

tRIUNE :  I agree with you. Also, God is not bound by time like we are.  Time is a prison for man and man only.  I think you basically said what I was trying to say, but in a much better way.  

I personally believe that God is very interested and concerned with every single aspect of our lives, but I do not believe He forces us to do anything at all. I believe He helps us when we ask, and as we need it, but what we do is entirely up to us. For example, think of the person that means the most to you. Would it would hurt, or upset you if something happened to them that caused them pain? You would want to help them, but it would be up to them to do something, and the only way you could help them would be if they chose to let you. This is how I believe God is in our lives.

BluemageKyle : I believe he already know's what we're going to do. I don't think He need's to trust us to 'do the right thing', cuz we'll slip up and fail and all that.
Eirinn : I think I agree with you. I would mention that God isn't bound by what we decide, He is omnipotent (all-powerful), therefore I would say that God allows us to choose. He isn't like "Oh, I really hope he/she decides to let me heal their arm" or whatever. That's my opinion.

How is it insulting? I'm just telling you all what jewsus watches me do. I really don't get what is so wrong about that. This thread is after all about how active god's role is in our lives so I was just trying to contribute.
