Thinking of doing a Vizzed March Maddness Competition

So folks its getting close to NCAA March Maddness; which to anyone who doesn't know is the college basketball tournament that is held every March. And one of the fun parts of this time is that people tend to do competitions revolving around the tournament.

Originally when I was in highschool me and my friends used to have a little competition where we would guess the results of the tournament and the winner would recieve a prize while the loser had to do something for the rest of the group (usually it involved giving the group gifts or cooking food). I've had die hard NCAA basketball fanatics and friends who never watched college basketball play in this tournament and we all had fun with it. Even the teachers in my school had a seperate tournament and sometimes teachers would play in our own pool.

Well since entering college, I'm afraid that last year was the first time I didn't have a tournament pool since all my friends went away to different schools. It was quite disappointing and depressing since it was quite fun.

Then I thought why not see if people on Vizzed would be interested in doing something similar to what me and my friends do around March Maddness time.

My idea was that if someone wants to do this "competition" that they agree to put 100 Viz into a pot (which is the amount that you just for logging onto vizzed for one day.) Everyone involved in the competition would pick teams that they believe will win the matchups and would earn points if they pick the right team. After the end of the competition, the person with the most points would win the Viz pot.

Now I could tweek some of the rules a bit, but before that I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in doing something like this? March Maddness doesn't start for a while and the offical brackets as well. So I figure I ask this early to see some of the reaction.

It would be quite fun to do.

We would have to put together those brackets and save them and link to them so we could verify we made legit brackets and what not.

It might also be fun to get rewarded for each correct guess (not part of the pot). Someone like myself could fund that easily

I think that makes sense. Early guesses would only be worth 25 Viz or something and then double it as each round goes on. If you're still getting it right at the Elite 8, Top 4 etc then you deserve more Viz.

I'm totally fine with funding this. I have no intention of trying to actually win. I might do a bracket for fun but I doubt it honestly.

as long as you run it by the global mods you should be fine to run this. David doesn't worry so much about stuff like this personally. I wouldn't bother him with it unless you mean to invite him to participate.
