Do you think a new divide will occur in the Catholic Church?

There is a call for a new church by some, one that represents the 21st Century.

But how will that look?

There is talk of a black pope, a Latin pope, a woman? a gay person?

There seems to be much separation between the traditionalists who demand a reformation in the church and the opportunity for change and those who given the turmoil's are clinging ever more stringently to traditionalist values.

What are your thoughts?

What ever it is these are certainly challenging and changing times.

Even my 90 year old uncle, a devout Catholic, said that he thought it was time for a change and that things need to move forward with times.

I doubt there will be a division in the Catholic Church. There may be some people who drop away because of the new Pope selection but I doubt any significant portion will leave. The likelihood of getting a non-traditional Pope this time around seems a lot more likely which sounds appealing to quite a few Catholics.
