Since the original Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 is your favorite game in the series, how do you feel about the remake, Twin Snakes, for the GameCube? Do you think that the series has gotten too dependent on cutscenes in more recent installments? Have you ever played Metal Gear Solid for the Game Boy Color, originally known as Metal Gear: Ghost Babel? If so, what are your thoughts on it? How do you feel about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? Planning to play
it? Think it'll suck? Indifferent towards the whole thing?
Personally, my favorite game in the series is also Metal Gear Solid for the PS1--although I like all of the games I've had the opportunity to play and feel that many of the others improve on certain aspects of the original beyond just what would be expected in a generational jump--but I haven't played Twin Snakes before, mostly on account of the price ($40 or more for a used GameCube game? Sorry, no sale). Since the excellent cutscenes were what drew me in to the original installment, I'd feel like a hypocrite to say that later games expanding on them is an issue; more specifically, the clever means of tying cutscenes in with gameplay have only gotten better, and while some games like Portal make great strides in telling story without cutscenes, I'll always have appreciation for quality theatrics. I own Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. I think it's neat, but I've never gotten around to finishing it in all the years I've owned it. Revengeance looks cool, but I'm not really in the market to buy new games lately; nothing personal against it, just the situation I'm in.
