I got control of my anger issues about 10 years ago. And this really infuriated me. This is a really stupid thing for someone, especially someone who is a part of our government to say. If a person decides to shoot someone, I'm willing to bet its not because they are trying to act like "Mr gang I have guns man" who is my version of a grand theft auto character.

I blame republicans for gun related deaths. As well as alcohol, bullying in schools, and anyone who has ever thought about firing a gun.

It is human nature to be violent. Adding guns to the equation make it too easy for those who have overly violent tendencies.

A politician? Saying something stupid?
Sounds like a normal day to me, Nya~.

It's stupid to blame anything but the cruel society we live in. We don't help those that need help regarding mental health, we over glorify attacks by keeping it as the center of attention for days, and it's too easy to get weaponry such as guns to do the attacks.

It's sad to think that these people who don't open their eyes to see the world we live in are running this nation, Nya~.

Jeez. When will they learn that video games are not a cause, only an outlet. Someone who is capable of shooting someone in cold blood has that capability and will do it no matter what video games he/she plays. The only correlation you can legitimately make is that a video game player who can shoot other people have a tendency to play those games. Well, duh!! They play it because it appeals to them in that way. It didn't make them do it or put that capability in them. They had it before they started playing. 
This is just another case of a Republican trying to point blame at something else because he doesn't want to give up his gun. (not saying he has a gun, but that isn't the point)

Of course video games don't kill people. People kill people. Often mentally unhinged, sad, lonely, pathetic, desperate, confused and/or psychopathic people. Normal, well-adjusted, healthy people do not kill people. And there is not a game out there that is capable of taking a sane person and making them insane. The whole thing is just stupid. It's more of the "We can't blame you and we sure won't blame ourselves, so let's find a scapegoat" mentality of these days.

Video games are an outlet, not an inducer of violence. The real problem we have with viiolence is that we, as a society, have glorified it one way or another. A lot of video games, television shows, and movies are filled to the brim with violence because we like them that way. If we didn't, they wouldn't be making millions of dollars from it.

The media does have a little bit of influence, however, because we all want attention. Mass shootings tend to be one way for certain individuals to exact revenge or cry for help when they don't know how to properly manage their emotions.

The frequency of violent acts has desensitized us into thinking that violence is an everyday occurrence; in reality, it is avoidable on an individual level.

Claiming that video games are a bigger problem than guns is a short-sighted answer to a problem that an entire society is struggling to deal with.
