Davideo7 : I'm not sure if this has something to do with recent updates/maintenance or what but I noticed with this review: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=53593&ppp=20&page=0#732488 The formatting is off and looks bad.

But on the actual game page https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/game.php?id=7814 it looks better. Any idea on why that might be?

tRIUNE :  I didn't do a lot of testing today because I had a long day AT the school and I don't have the emulators there. However, now that you answered my question in the staff page, I'll go try editing a few game pages and seeing what happens.  I'll edit this post with the results, and hopefully that will help trouble shoot a little.

EDIT:  Okay, so on average, editing the page takes WAAAAY longer than it used to.  I seem to get an error about 70 to 80% of the time, but I don't know what kind of error it is.  It doesn't SAY 500 error, but it's an internal server error.  But at the bottom it does say "Addtionally, a 404 Page Not Found error was....".

Jordanv78 : I've noticed a few times when the review thread is formatted bad but the game page formats it correctly - not sure if that's the case here though.

Singelli : I noticed a couple times yesterday with editing game pages that it would give that error, although overall yesterday it was back to normal - except today I've been getting a lot of those 500 errors. I'm not sure what the problem is but only David would know so your results will be helpful nonetheless.

Hey, I just downloaded the new Vizzed plugin, and now NONE of my games work. At all. For example, in Metroid Zero Mission, I can't even start the game at all. I try changing the key input, but for some reason, it always automatically chages to Z or E. I can't make it change to anything else. So now, Up is Z, Down is Z, etc. How do I fix this? Because I can't play any games. It's completely BUSTED.

I have noticed one thing, but I don't know if it's something with my computer or the site.  Every now and then when I try to load a page, the blue backdrop and the first table header load.  But right above that header in fine print it says "Out of memory (Needed 8386956 bytes)" and the rest of the page stays blank.  If I hit refresh, it gives me the same message, but if I click off that page and then back onto it, it will load again.

It doesn't happen often though.  It's maybe happened half a dozen times for me between yesterday and today.


Oh, and from what I can recall, it' always happened on the 'new posts' page.


Also, when replying to a thread, I sometimes get this error at the top of the page:

Warning: mysql_fetch_array() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/vizzed/public_html/lib/function.php on line 1402

But I can always post without incident.

EDIT:  It's not my netbook.  (the out of memory error)  My work computer is giving me the same error.

Jordanv78 : Nothing to do with the maintenance. The only reason it looks better on the game page is because I made it so that reviews have a small space after each paragraph, just in case the user didn't space out their paragraphs.

I just got the 'out of memory' error right before posting this.  Just thought you'd want to know.

EDIT:
Just submitted a thread and got the submission error as well. However, I think it was different than the earlier one I reported because it was in a different location on the page, and from what I saw in the few seconds, it looked like it had a different string of numbers in it.  However, when I went back, the error no longer showed, so I'm not sure what the actual error on the text was.   I'm sorry.

I spent an hour writing a 3,000 word review and went to submit it.
The site said I was not logged in or I used an incorrect username.  Then the page refreshed.... but I was logged in.  That's never happened before.

Yes, I HAD typed it in notepad.  Yes, I HAD copied the text.  But I was happy with the review and adding pictures to it, so I had a link copied instead of the actual text.

And I had accidentally closed the notepad without saving it, because I had several notepads up, and I closed the wrong one purely by mistake, thinking it was the one I no longer needed.

What is wrong with me and writing reviews lately?!?!?!?

Glad to see the site is still up and running

The site is still having various issues and still isn't running perfect. It can go hours running perfectly smooth and than out of nowhere it'll get weird. I'll continue looking into this but I don't think any big maintenance will be necessary again, probably only short maintenance of like 5-15 minutes at a time.

I didn't note when I got the 500 error that day because it was happening on-and-off all day. Today it happened about 4 or more times with the game page edit going through even though I got the error, but just now it happened and the edit did not go through. (7:16 or 7:17 PM server)

I finished re- writing that review.  But when I went to post the review, I got the same error as before.  The site tells me I'm either not logged in, or I have taken or passed the Newbie Quiz.  (I have... I made a 100%)

So apparently I can't post reviews, and I'm not sure why.

(((Luckily this time, I saved it in Notepad without accidentally deleting it!)))

Oh, and by the way, I know it's not a timing issue, because I only had the thread open long enough to copy and paste the text from notepad, then format it.

UPDATE: Trying a third time resulted in a successful submission.
