I prefer chocolate, it has great texture, good taste, and it has many more uses and different tastes than vanilla. I don't really know if anybody will go for vanilla, because it needs extreme refining, not to say that chocolate doesn't, but there's only the one taste for vanilla, and it has a long process to make.

It's hard to get good vanilla anything because nobody really uses vanilla and even when they do, they tend not to use it well. Whereas chocolate is used in most candy bars, cakes, cookies, and all sorts of other kinds of sweets. It also can range from milk to dark and shades in between.

This basically gives it a wider appeal and makes it a superior baking ingredient. I also feel that it goes with more things than vanilla does. Vanilla doesn't really go with much other than chocolate itself.
