For some reason, any GBA game I play on here plays at super speed. Pressing space bar make it go even faster, so that's not the problem. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Are you talking about GBA games in the RGR? (If so, this is the wrong forum)

That should be possible unless the frame limit were turned off... which isn't something you should be able to do in the RGR version.

My only suggestion is to maybe try switching to Mednafen and seeing if that runs any slower.

Popeye116 : Because that's what the developers called it. Really these posts of yours are kinda spammy. Just an FYI.

epicpokenerd! : The spacebar is set as the "Speed up" Emulation speed button. This is probably why you have speed issues. You can try deleting your input file, or just uninstalling/reinstalling the rgr plugin to reset the emulation speed. Or you could do what was previously stated which is just use the medafen emulator and see if that solves your problem.

If you need further assistance feel free to ask me.

Jordanv78 : As I said, pressing spacebar makes it go faster than before, so that isn't the cause. I already re-installed the plug-in, so that isn't the case either.

Crazy Li : Yes, it is the emulator, not actual game.

I think I may know the cause of this, however this is purely theory. My computer recently lost it's sound capability, so no sound drive is present. With no sound drive, the energy that would normally go into the sound instead goes into the speed of the game. Does this sound possible?

There is some possibility of that, actually. I know that when you disable sound in an emulator, it runs faster. It STILL shouldn't exceed 100% speed due to frame limiting (in theory) unless Tom has frame limit disabled.

Crazy Li : Huh. So I guess this may end up being something I have to deal with, maybe on all games. That kinds sicks, but it could be a lot worse. I'm gonna try other systems and try Mednafen.

epicpokenerd! : I know pressing spacebar speeds it up. That's what I'm saying. You probably accidentally pressed it to speed the emulator up. Deleting the config file for the GBA emulator in the Vizzed directory usually could clear that up.

There are also issues with Sound scaling with Visual Boy advanced that could be having adverse reactions with your sound drivers(or non-existant ones) Do you have the same issue using Medafen?

Jordanv78 : What I'm saying about the spacebar is that without it pressed, it's faster than normal, and then pressing it while it is at this speed makes it go even faster. Also, I am having trouble trying to find Medafen. Where is it?

Upper left-hand corner of game window. It will say "Play using Medafen"

You basically need to actually launch the game first like you're playing normally and the game window will offer you a link to switch emulators.

Crazy Li : Medafen plays at regular sped. Thanks! Oh and also, is there a way to transfer save states from the preset emulator to Medafen?

Mednafen and VBA both use .sav files for GBA saves. In theory, they should be interchangeable if you just move the save file to Mednafen's save folder and make sure the save is named the way Mednafen wants it.

The folder for saves is C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPlugin

Then go to your User folder and to VBA -> Saves to grab the old .sav and copy that into Mednafen_new -> sav. If it doesn't recognize it, trying closing out and looking to see if it created a save file of its own. Copy the exact file name, delete it, and then change the one you got from VBA to the name of the one Mednafen created.

If none of this works, shoot me a PM and I'll see if I can figure out how to make it work with Vizzed. The RGR settings might make it more difficult than normal.

Hopefully, everything is resolved now, so I'll close the thread for you. Like I said, if you need any other help, just PM me.
