I love to write songs about my feelings, experiences, etc. Anyone else out there write? If so, do you tend to write for a certain genre? I mostly write Christian rock of sorts, but not hard stuff usually.

Would you be willing to share any of it?  I don't write songs, but I do write poetry quite often. It's not ALL that different, as far as the emotions behind the writing, anyways.  If you are willing to share some, you should post it in the stories and simulation area.  It's great to post stuff there too, because you can get feedback.

I write songs and am also in a band. When I write them I don't have it set out in my head that I need to write a song for a specific genre, like you my songs come from experiences and the heart and even though my genre isn't christian based I'd love to hear some of your work

I find I can only write songs about things I've done, or something I have an opinion/ have feelings for.  If I were to post my work online, I would cut it short, or leave some major part out. Like if the song had a really cool guitar solo, I would take it out, or change it slightly so it wasn't as cool. 
I can't really write to a certain genre, I write vague ideas/ poetry and they kinda just take off. Although the majority of my work has an old school Rock and Roll type feel.

Lele123 : I would actually enjoy sharing sometime. In fact, it would be nice if we could swap lyrics sometime, as I always love hearing other people's work as well. Though I would prefer using pm to do so, rather than an open post. It was for the best actually), so I really have no one to share with anymore. Alternative is what I mostly have. But I do have a few lyric sets that can go with any genre of music out there. (If the crowd is not into Alternative and some fool booked our band for a country crowd or what not....We have the arsenal to retaliate with.)
Though that was years ago. I gave up on the music world after my first two years of college.

I don't have to play guitar to score? Sign me up and pay the fee. I'll gladly jot down a few notes and do a few computations of some odd math that's hard to pronounce.
