As I'm sure a lot of you know, 4 elite teams have clinched playoff berths due to victories and division rivals losses in Week 13. These 4 teams are the Houston Texans (11-1-0), New England Patriots (9-3-0), Atlanta Falcons (11-1-0), and the Denver Broncos (9-3-0). Because these teams have clinched playoff berths, I have decided to make a thread dedicated to the NFL postseason.

Who do you think will enter the postseason?

Who will win every division?

How do you think the seeding will end up?

And the biggest question of all, who do you think will win the Super Bowl?

Local Mods : Can we replace the closed NFL Regular Season thread with this one? Pretty much Sticky this?

Well the Vikings beat the Packers to earn the final Wild card spot. As I expected. Also got the Redskins right...

For all those who don't know the schedule, here it is:

Bengals @ Texans. Saturday 4:30 EST

Vikings @ Packers Saturday 8:00 EST

Colts @ Ravens Sunday 1:00 EST

Seahawks @ Redskins 4:30 EST

Now to my predictions.

Bengals @ Texans- Going to be a close one, but I believe that the Texans will win this game. While both teams have been inconsistant at some points, I believe the Texans are the better team.

Vikings @ Packers- UPSET!! Vikings will beat the Packers. I think the Vikings know how to beat the Packers with a heavy dose of Peterson, Ponder not making bone-headed decisions, and a bend-but-don't-break defense. Packers defense is just not healthy, they don't have a run game, and Packers run defense isn't good.

Colts @ Ravens- UPSET!! Taking the Colts over the Ravens. It will be close, but the Colts win's have been close. I don't trust the Ravens offense which is still being developed with the new OC. Not to mention I can't predict how good Ray Lewis will be.

Seahakws @ Redskins- I'm taking the Seahawks as they have the better defense. RG3 not being 100% will benefit the Seahawks defense as they are a physical style defense that will stop the run game. Not to mention Wilson has not been turning the ball over and Lynch in the backfield will be tough for the Skin's D to cover.

So my predictions for the games in 2 weeks...

Colts @ Denver
Texans @ Pats
Vikings @ Falcons
Seahakws @ 49ers

I'm not going to predict those games as the 49ers' injuries will influence my vote. Not to mention I could be wrong on some games.

I really hope the Bengals can go far in the playoffs, mainly because I like AJ Green.
I wouldnt be surprised if the Seahawks make it to te Super Bowl.

Oldschool41 : I don't see the problem in that. It is playoff time after all and there should be something for us football fans, even though my team (The Giants) got eliminated yesterday I am very much looking forward to the post-season. Minnesota and Green Bay played great yesterday so too did Dallas and Washington.

The two teams I am interested in are the Ravens and the Seahawks. As much as I love the Ravens, who are my team, I hate to say it, but the Colts will upset them, 31-27.
As for the Seahawks and Skins, I say the Seahawks win, 41-38, Overtime.

Texans will beat the Bengals
I think the Packers rebound and take a close one from the Vikings.
Colts will beat the Ravens. Ravens are the weakest team in the playoffs next to the Resins imo.
Seahawks will crush the Redskins. Not a good matchup for the Skins.

Colts@Broncos - Broncos win.
Texans@Patriots - Patriots unfortunately.
Packers@Falcons - Packers will expose the Falcons.
Seahawks@49ers - Seahawks roll through to conference finals.

Broncos-Pats - Broncos in a game that's over in the 3rd quarter.
Packers-Seahawks- Seahawks continue their run.

Seahawks-Broncos- Broncos in an absolute thriller.

That's my best guess.

I had a lot of high expectations for the NFC West but it didn't totally go the way I expected. I never thought Seahawks would get this many wins in the season let alone come close to winning the division. Cards made a run for it then faltered after four games.

I'm surprised and not surprised by some of the postseason firings.
Surprised: Lovie Smith
Not surprised: Ken Wisenhunt, Andy Reid

Another surprise is Rex Ryan still lives.

Azul Fria : I'm not surprised. This was a float or sink season for him. The fact that we started 7-1 and ended up 10-7 missing the playoffs shows that Lovie can't get us over the hill. I wouldn't mind Andy Reid coaching for the Bears.

I'm not surprised by Wisenhunt, Turner, Reid, and the other head coach firings. I think Turner will end up coaching again (I'm going to say Cardinals), Wisenhunt will most likely return to college. I think Chip Kelly from Oregon will take either the Cleveland or Philly head coach job. Saben will end up coaching the Chargers.

I'm not surprised Rex Ryan is still head coach. Its more of the GM making terrible offseason moves and draft picks that ended them up in the position. Also the fact that the defense wasn't healthy (Revis), QB situation was a complete mess, and the running game wasn't there also hurt them. Ryan will get fired next year pending what happens to the Jets. But they need to do the following...

1. Cut/Trade Tebow (Jacksonville)

2. Cut Sanchez

3. Draft Geno Hayes from West Virginia

4. Trade for Packers WR James Jones (his trade value is threw the roof, Packers would be a fool to not trade Jones as they can get at least a mid round draft pick. Best 2nd round pick. Worst 2 4th round picks.)

5. Keep Edwards at WR

6. Draft a Running back with there 1st round pick (in my situation the Jets trade Greene and draft picks to Packers for James Jones). Go defense/OL for the rest of the draft.

7. Off season go after offensive free agents (WR, TE.)

Do this and I think the Jets will rebound. They won't win the division, but they will at least win a Wild card position.

legacyme3 : Same here I have the Seahawks-Broncos for a Post-season poll I'm doing. I think most people would want Broncos-Packers, Patriots-Packers, 49ers-Broncos, or 49ers-Patriots for the Superbowl thou.

What I don't get is people saying the draft class is weak this year. I think this draft class will surprise most people. Yes there isn't a good QB in the draft (well not true, there just isn't an all star calibur QB like Luck or RG3,) but there is a lot of talent on the Defense side that could be a factor. Also the WR core isn't terrible, I can see a couple of sleepers similar to T.Y Hilton from last years draft.

The seeding is already over and I am pretty happy about how it ended up. I would have been happier if the cowboys had beaten the Redskins.
The Redskins probably deserved to win this because I think that they are just a better team. I think the cowboys had the ability to beat the Redskins but just didn't use that ability. I also would have been happier if the Packers had beaten the Viking because I though that the Packers were just better than the Vikings so I was surprised when the Vikings won and got the last seed. I think the Packers just didn't bring there A game.I also saw the Patriots beating the Dolphins although I thought it would have been closer saying on how there game went last time. This will be a good post season and will be fun to watch how it turns out. Anyone have any thoughts?

Azul Fria :

I'm mot terribly surprised by the firing of Smith.

Ownership and his relationship have been strained for years and he couldn't get the team to the next level. He was one year away from the end of his contract and he wasn't coming back so it makes sense to look for a replacement asap.

Also, he said his goal was to beat the Packers. He had trouble doing that. A lot of trouble.

Here's my NFC Predictions.
Round 1
Redskins will beat the Seahawks
Packers will beat the Vikings
Round 2
Redskins will beat Falcons O.e
Packers will beat 49ers
Round 3
Packers will beat Redskins in final.
I am mainly saying this because my uncles are huge Skins fans.

Okay folks the Texans and Packers both won their playoff games. Here's what it means for those who don't watch American Football or know the playoff rules...

1. Texans and Packers both being the 3 seeds will play the 2 seed (so the match ups will be Texans @ Patriots, Packers @ 49ers.) Both are going to be great games as both of them are rematches from the regular season (49ers and Patriots won those games).

2. The winner of Colts-Ravens and Seahawks-Redskins game will end up playing the 1 seed (Broncos and Falcons). If I'm the Falcons I'm hoping the Redskins beat the Seahawks as the Seahawks at least to me have the better shot at beat the Falcons (who have never won a playoff game.) Broncos I don't think are worried as they will easily beat the Colts or Ravens.

The colts have lost, good. The Seahawks won, not so good for Falcons fans. Here is what turned out. The Ravens will play the Broncos in Denver. The Packers will play the 49ers in San Francisco. The Texans will play the Patriots. Oldschool41 I also wanted the Redskins to win because I think they would be easier for the Falcons.

Well, I was wrong about a few games this week. I picked:
Texans over Bengals (correct!)
Colts over Ravens (incorrect)
Vikings over Packers (incorrect)
Redskins over Seahawks (incorrect)

Hopefully my record will be better next week. I'm picking:
Broncos over Ravens (49-14)
Packers over 49'ers (32-28)
Atlanta over Seattle (35-17)
Patriots over Texans (42-21)

Let's see how this goes! BTW, I previously picked the Falcons for the superbowl, but I'm changing to the Broncos boat.

Everybody thinks the Ravens are going to lose to the Broncos. I do not think so. But, in case you want to bet on a game, I do have a thread for that. Please, do not be afraid to bump the thread.

This weekend I think it's gonna be Pats, Broncos, Seahawks, Packers.

And I gotta disagree with the claim that the Broncos will beat the Pats by the third quarter. When the Pats lose, they tend to wait until the very end of the game to do it. I wouldn't be surprised to see a huge lead lost if they make it into the AFC Championship.
