Just announcing that baby #3 is on the way. My wife is due July 13th 2013.

I'm sure I'll be back with another update once we know if we're having a boy or a girl but for now it's a yay that we're having another one

And yes, this was planned. Completely intentional.

thing1 : if I go to Hawaii any time soon I won't be bringing my kids and even if I did I wouldn't let someone I only know through the internet do the babysitting.

patar4097 : I don't really have a preference. I've got 2 girls already and I really like having daughters. Plus I wouldn't have to buy anything new for a girl.

However, it would be nice to have a boy to do all the guy things with.

In the end as long as the baby is happy and healthy I'm fine.

Awwwww, congrats!  It's always such a joy to hear about couples being able to have children!  I'm so happy for you, and I hope all goes well!

Wow congratulations, that's awesome. So how big of an age gap will there be between all 3 kids now?

Davideo7 : Gabby will be close to turning 5, Lydia will be almost 3 when the new baby comes. So the gaps will be just under 2 and just under 3 years. I think this time it'll be a lot easier because we'll have 2 much older kids that are able to help rather than having 1 newborn and 1 toddler. Both should be totally potty trained by the time the new baby comes so I'll have no trouble taking care of them for a while.

Wow, I didn't realize how old your kids were getting already and for some reason I was thinking my oldest was closer in age to your youngest (or 2nd youngest now). Yeah having your first 2 kids real close in age is pretty tough, if my wife and I have more kids, we're going to wait and not have the next one so close to our current 2.

yeah, we felt the same way about our third but we didn't want to wait too long either. We didn't want to have a 5+ age gap either. Plus, if we want to have 4 we can't wait too long.

D'awww, congratulations! I've had a bit of baby fever lately so this definitely made me smile! Lazlo and I have one daughter, who's 2 and a half, and we go back and forth on if we want more. I'd like to have another but he's unsure, and we don't know how long to wait, ugh. It used to be easy because it was like "Oh yeah, I think 3 kids sounds good! That sounds like a cute family size." Then... you have your first baby, and finally they're getting easier to take care of and having to do it all over again isn't as exciting!

I definitely agree with not having too big of a gap between kids though. My brother and I were 6 years apart and we had pretty much nothing in common and were fighting constantly. Siblings always fight, but we just couldn't find any sort of balance and tolerance with each other until he moved out. I think it's better when kids are similar in age to an extent and can enjoy some of the same things.

Anyway, I digress. I'm very happy for you and your wife, and I'm sure it'll be awesome having your older girls to help out with little stuff, or at least be able to entertain themselves while you're taking care of the little one. What a darling little family you're going to have, and no doubt already do! Definitely keep us updated!

KG : my wife and I were of the opinion that if we were going to have any kids we were going to have more than 1. She was an only child and hated it. She always wished she had siblings because she saw how things were for her friends.

We're probably going to stop at either 3 or 4. Really depends on how this one goes.
