A.) This belongs in Video Games, so I'll move it for you

B.) This is somewhat unnecessary since we already have a Favorite Video Game thread, but I guess if people talk more about games they're good at instead of solely games they like, I'll allow it. =)

I am good at puzzle games like Tetris, Portal and others of the sort. I am really good at rhythm games like Guitar Hero or Rock Band. I have a K : D ratio of 1.7 on Black Ops II.

I'm really good at Super Smash Bros Brawl and N64, which is kinda surprising, considering I'm pretty bad at almost any other fighting game I know, except Touhou Hisoutensoku, which I'm solely only alright at, Nya~.

However, I'm much, much better on the Genesis Sonic games, especially when it comes to Speedrunning (Though I could do better ). The older games, though, are pretty meh for me Except for Generations and Adventure 1, which I'm exceptionally good at, Nya~.

Let's see... I'm really good at KoF games, fairly good at the Marvel vs. Capcom and similar series... not too shabby at SF4 (but horrible at most other SF games)... I'm also starting to get good at Persona 4: Arena

I also find myself to be really good at Star Ocean games that aren't the 3rd one... and Tales of the Abyss. Really, I tend to do very well at most RPGs I play.

I remember being pretty darn good at Kirby Superstar back in my SNES days, but it felt like a really easy game so maybe it's just that and I'm not really anything special >.> I've never really been especially good at platformers otherwise.

And... that's all I can really think of. I don't think there are any other genres I can play with any real thing resembling skill xp

MegaRevolution1 : I love Super Smash Brothers Brawl, that was such a fun game to play. Wish I still had it though, but I got rid of it because it stopped working.

I have a tendency to be best at the old "Coin-Op" Games.
Driving or Flight simulators were always a fun adventure.
Pistol "light gun" games were a joy.
Yet, You Can Not turn a blind eye to the old fighting games like "Street Fighter".
Mortal Kombat, Samurai Showdown, Soul Edge, Tekken, Dead Or Alive, King Of Fighters, the list goes on and on. There was once money awarded to the best players in the world with some of those games. I'm not the best, but I did have a chance to compete in the "state champs" a long time ago. (Think the year 2000.) Good times. The differing control methods today are still bit hard to master due to the fact that it's been miniaturized and the button schemes are designed with "first person shooters in mind". In the old days you used your whole arms with joystick and buttons. The wrists were free to go all over the place. Now days people look like they are in handcuffs while playing a game. Funny when I think about the changes.
I was Best with the "Street Fighter" series. Particularly "Marvel Vs Capcom 2". The Insane combo's with 60 to 90 hits for example. "Who would create such a brutal way to fight in a fictional way ?" Gotta hand it to the folks in Japan to dare attempt such an invention. Its Brilliant and Beautiful. Fun is just a side-effect.
"Marvel Vs Capcom 2" is my entry. (Id mention part 3, but who doesn't know about that game?)
Good luck.
Peace.

From what I know and see alot of people think they're good at a game but really are just not playing against skilled players. I had a complex with Smash Bros for a time then I went into competitions and tournys.. I soon realized I was decent but there are plenty of players who know the real structure and everything that goes with it like move cancellation and things of that sort.

I'm decent at Smash Bros, Halo, Fire Emblem

I rock at Killer Instinct (Maybe I just haven't had a go at good players) and Tony Hawk.
I wasted alot of time on Tony Hawk games and Skate it's more that I have applied practice and time instead of being naturally good at it.

There was a time--I think I was in high school--when I owned a genuine Atari 2600 and was capable of making the world records list (pretty far down, but definitely on it) at Twin Galaxies over three different games: Joust, Defender, and Freeway. (Of the three I'm only particularly proud of Joust, as you can survive almost indefinitely in Defender just by warping around a lot and Freeway has such a small scale scoring system that there aren't a lot of possible variations across the records list.)

Thing is, we didn't have a camera to record it on and Twin Galaxies was very particular about getting actual footage of the screen in accordance with several specific rules. We kept meaning to borrow a digital recorder from a relative but we didn't see them for a while and nothing ever gets done around my house anyway. There was delay after delay, during which time the system broke down--for the second time in just a year, perhaps in just a few months--and this time could not be repaired again.

So what was I to do? I could've tried to get a new system somehow (they're more expensive than you'd think) but I decided against it. You see, in order to get that good at something you have to practice it so much that it ceases to be any fun at all. It has to go beyond being a chore and all the way into being a nightmare. Lesson learned.

I'll bet that if I played these games again now I would suck at them. It's like memorizing long poems for school and hardly remembering three or four lines by the end of the year. The human brain is funny that way.

Speaking of which I'm still having trouble with that "Castlevania" walkthrough. I can make it through the game easily enough now but it's going to take maybe months of practice before I can make it through the second quest (the game itself, for all its infamous difficulty, is just a warm-up round!), and that's *after* I recover from this sickness which has been chipping away at my reflexes and coordination. Plus there's my writing to think of and my arthritic hands need to learn to pace themselves. Which means I probably shouldn't be writing four-hundred-word posts here for no particular reason. Well, see ya.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
