Theeagle123 here back with another poll and today's question is

- If you could have a sidekick from any game to be by your side  who would it be and why?
                                                                               The rules to this are:
    1. You must state the full name and what game it's from.
    2. State any special abilities this sidekick may have or anything special about him.
    3. It must be an actual sidekick that follow you and help you for most or all of the game
    4. State why you would want this sidekick to follow you around.
                                                                               Examples:
Goofy or Donald(Kingdom Hearts,) Luigi( super Mario bros,) Daxter (Jak and Daxter,) Clank( Ratchet and Clank) Bentley or Murray( Sly Cooper,) Etc.
Have fun posting! I'm Theeagle123 and I'll see you next time with more polls, threads and countdowns but until then I'll be tinking about my favorite sidekick. So Many CHOICES!

Midna from Zelda: Twilight Princess. Reason? She's witty and her strength (moved a bridge! and with no hands! lol). And because she could teleport you around when necessary.

Sidekicks can provide one or multiple functions, such as a counterpoint to the hero,[4] an alternate point of view, or knowledge, skills, or anything else the hero does not have. They often function as comic relief,[4] and/or the straight man to the hero's comedic actions. A sidekick can also act as someone that the audience can relate to better than the hero, or whom the audience can imagine themselves as being (such as teen sidekicks).[3] And by asking questions of the hero, or giving the hero someone to talk to, the sidekick provides an opportunity for the author to provide exposition, thereby filling the same role as a Greek chorus.
Sidekicks frequently serve as an emotional connection, especially when the hero is depicted as detached and distant, traits which would normally generate difficulty in making the hero likable.[3] The sidekick is often the confidant who knows the main character better than anyone else and gives a convincing reason to like the hero. Although Sherlock Holmes was a difficult man to know, his friendship with Dr. Watson convinces the reader that Holmes is a good person. The Left Hand of Vampire Hunter D, being mentally linked to the reticent protagonist, often reveals thoughts, feelings, and the physical condition of his host, as well as background elements of the story. In Star Trek: The Original Series, this pattern is reversed since it is Kirk who convinces us that Spock is a decent person.
The apparent stupidity of some comedy sidekicks is often used to make a non-intellectual hero look intelligent. Similarly, a flamboyant or effeminate sidekick may make an otherwise unimposing hero look more masculine. And a strong, silent and modest hero may have his fighting qualities revealed to the other characters and the audience by a talkative sidekick.
While many sidekicks are used for comic relief, there are other sidekicks who are less outrageous than the heroes they pledge themselves to, and comedy derived from the hero can often be amplified by the presence or reaction of the sidekick. Examples include Porky Pig, who is more sensible and calmer than Daffy Duck in later short films; similarly, Sancho Panza is more rational than Don Quixote.
It is typical for the character and sidekick to be of the same gender — otherwise, the term "sidekick" is replaced with "partner" or "companion". Whenever there is a team of more than two characters, the term sidekick is generally reserved for another team member of the same sex. It is rare for the relationship between a character and an opposite-sex sidekick to lack romantic or sexual overtones of any kind — though there are examples, like Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin, and Encyclopedia Brown and Sally Kimball. The original Doctor Who series intentionally avoided any explicit onscreen indications of romantic or sexual attraction between The Doctor and his female companions. (See the discussion of comic books' teenage sidekicks below.)

BrentzMoney : Yes, we can all copy/paste from Wikipedia. 2 things I need to point out:

1.) copy/pasting from other sites to make long posts is against the rules, so I will ignore your word count so you will not get the post exp for this.

2.) What you copied and pasted has pretty much nothing to do with this thread, so it is spam anyways.

Don't copy/paste and actually read the first post of the thread to know what it is about.

I would have a Nord from Skyrim who could do lots of restoration and destruction magika. He would also have be greatly experienced with one handed weapons. I would have him because he would be able heal me if need be, and destroy things and help me fight my enemies.
What do you think about that? My side kick would woop butt.

This is a different question (for me) than just "which video game character would you like to have with you?" because the term "sidekick" implies that they sort of support you and balance you.

If anyone's read PC Gamer's "An Illusionist in Skyrim", I'd take Belrand, because he's a badass.

Aside from that, though, I'd take one of the following:
 - Cheryl, from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. She battles alongside you with a freaking Chansey, which sucks for attacking but is awesome for supporting your Pokémon. And she heals all of your Pokémon after every single battle. Yes, there are other partners later in the game, but Cheryl is most awesome.
 - Sona, from League of Legends. She heals you, buffs you, deals damage, stuns, and even buys items that support you. Also, dem tits.
 - Soren, from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I mostly just like his attitude, but also he kicks ass.
 - The Heavy, from the Team Fortress series. For obvious reasons.
 - Frostprey, from MapleStory. Yes, I played MapleStory - judge me if you want. It's basically Articuno, but better, because Stealth Rocks don't exist in the Maple world (curse you, Stealth Rocks, for making perfectly viable Pokémon completely useless in competitive battling).
 - The Companion Cube, from the Portal series. Because everybody needs a friend.
 - Toad, from just about every Mario game ever. Toad ranges from "mildly annoying" to "very useful" in most Mario games. What's a good sidekick without a bit of annoyance?

Miles Prower aka Tails, from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, would be the sidekick I would want to have. Tails is my favorite sidekick of all time, and it would be pretty cool having him follow me. I really cant think of any practical things Tails could do for me other than retrieving something I cant reach I guess.

For a sidekick I would have Tails from the Sonic games. Why? Because he is a tech genius and also he can fly. Not sure how he spins his tails, it biologically makes no sense. But then again he is a game character, and his best friend runs faster than cars.

I was going to go with something funny like "Jack or Daxter".
Then I was going to go with something Cool like any of the support characters from the "Matrix" games.

But now???

I am kinda inspired by the mentions in "my protagonist thread".

So, I am going with "Shadow" from "Dead To Rights".
Man's best friend would be my Co-Pilot.
Feeding him would not be too much of a problem and he seems to be extremely trained.
Getting a dog to not freak out around gunfire is a trick I have yet to learn.
Plus he can do take-downs., Sniff-out Bombs., Fetch a gun if I run out of ammo., One of the best Sidekicks a Person could ask for.

The Pooch gets my vote for today.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.
