Actually, I'm not christian. I searched through this since I used to be when I was younger.
I don't pray before eating, since in my family no one is christian, and we all don't really bother. Most of us just come downstairs, eat our dinner, go straight back upstairs.
The only time we are all at the table is on sunday when we have a roast.

...I like roast, but it's just my moms cooking so I just eat different stuff instead then just go back to what I was doing.
