For your OWN opinion , what do you think is the best pet to have or buy ? I wanted to ask this from you because I am thinking / planing to buy my self a pet , but I don't know what to buy . Any ideas ?

I am thinking to buy a dog but I think many other animals can be better than a dog . And , a pet dog is very common here at my place and I want to be different from others .

If you want a loyal dog a German Shepherd might be a good choice, but if you want a really friendly dog a Golden Retriever might also be good! I love dogs, my family used to have a dog, but my sister is allergic so we sold her...

Depends on your age and what you want in a pet, as well as how much effort you are willing to put into a pet. For example, a hamster doesn't require as much effort as a dog but a hamster also does less than a dog. There seems to be a pretty plotable curve to the "What you want, how much effort you need" thing too. So yeah... My personal best pet is a small breed dog, like my Shih-Tzu. My sister's best pet, on the other hand, is more suited to a gold fish <.<

I have had a LOT of pets honestly

all at once ive had a turtle, 4 cats, a bunch of fish, 4 ginne pigs, a dog and a rabbit of some kind

Not kidding

But that was a long time ago, now i only have a cat, 2 kittens and a dog

And it all matters what kind of pet you really want like...

Entergetic - Matlese or any small dog in that matter
More of a Playful/Curious - a kitten of any sort that is young, about 7 weeks or so. but you have to be very watchful
Handle being home alone more - any kind of small animal that does not have to go or be outside, like being in a cage
Easy to handle - Fish, Turtle, Ginne pig

Mod Edit: Removed the layout

CheeseBurgerWithNoCheese :

I do have a pet. In fact, I have two. I have a (fixed) female cat; she is an American Short-Hair that looks like a Russian Blue. Her name is Jemuh, although we sometimes called her Jem or Jemuh-Bean instead. My other pet is a male (not fixed) dog; he is an 18 pound purebred, registered Shih-Tzu. His name is Boch. His nicknames are Bocha and Boch-Boch.

What, specifically, are you seeking in a pet? Are you wanting a pet that can do tricks? Are you wanting a low-maintenance pet? Are you wanting a high-maintenance pet? Do you want your pet to be active or calm? Do you want your pet to have a lot of hair or no hair or some hair? Do you want your pet to fly, walk, swim? What do you want your pet to be capable of?

Really, there is no "best" pet. Just the "most suited" pet.

I personally think cats are the best option

Dogs are messy and very dependent, and they require a lot of work.
Birds and rabbits are not 'cuddly' and smell VERY bad.  They make a very large mess in a very small area, and that mess happens to be of the feces sort.
Fish die pretty easily and also require a lot of maintenance and accessories.

Cats, however, are independent, easy to take care of, flexible, and cuddly. Their care pretty much consists of filling their food bowl and water bowl daily, scooping the litter box daily, and bathing them maybe monthly.  If you need to leave the house for a weekend, you can leave extra food and water, and things will be just fine when you return home.  The only downside is that you really need to start taking care of one when it is young. Cats are so independent that they tend towards unfriendliness if not raised right.  However, if you pet them a lot while they are growing up and if you hold them and pick them up a lot, they will be the sweetest, most lovable pets you could imagine.

I think the best pet to have is a cat or an kitten because cats or kittens like to play and sometimes can be enjoyable and fun to watch. However, they can cause bad things also. They can bite, scratch, and it can bleed badly.

I like cats, because they are fun to play with, they're cute, and they are low maintenance, as opposed to dogs. The best is when my cat kills a mouse in our backyard, but not so good when she kills a bird or bunny.

I got both dogs and cats. One thing I notice about both is that dogs eat everything you give them if they decide to eat it. If a cat is full, they'll stop eating once they've had their fill.

Well if you REALLY want to be different you can go a pet story and buy a snake or lizard lol.

But I would say that a really unique bird or a unique dog would be a good pet to have.

Oh and if you can find one, you can buy a Sugar glider (which is somewhat of a doctile nocteral squirel lol).

Out of all the animals I've ever had I must say I like dogs and budgies the most. Budgies are cute, small, fun birds and they are really cuddly when you have tamed them. Also, it is possible to teach them how to speak which is really cool. Only real downside though is that they can easily get sick if you don't take care of them well enough and sickness often leads to death. :/ They are also a bit noisy, but you get used to it~  Other bird pets are probably also very nice, I've personally always wanted a parrot, haha.

I think a cat because they have a mind of their own unlike dogs. Cats are smart. They love you and you should love them. Care about them and they will care about you.

Dogs are good pets if you are very active and have a lot of patience, cats are good because they really don't care what you are doing as long as it doesn't bother them, you just have to clean litter boxes, or you could get a fish. I have a yorkie and he is a pain in the butt! He chews on every thing and will seek out things to chew up and eat, he uses the bath room in the house no matter how much I take him out but I love the little devil.

Dogs for sure, but not little ankle biting dogs that yap all the time and people use as handbag accessories. A good sized dog, that will be able to protect you. Its also good for entertainment purposes, as dogs are playful.

In my opinion the best pet to have would be either some kind of exotic fish or Ingunna. I say the exotic fish because it would look breath taking in a nice decorated tank and you wouldn't have that much to do as far as taking care of it goes. I choose an Ingunna as well because they are very interesting and cool animals to observe and look at but they also don't require much clean up nor much actual hard work to take care of.

If you are a young boy around 10 you will wont a dog or maybe a gerble.
dogs are also good exercising partners because they require attention such as walking them. i used to have two gerbles but they ate colored paper and died.
