A Whatchamacallit was absolutely the weirdest candy bar I ever had: Chocolate, peanut butter (maybe brittle?), and a crunch like a crunch bar with maybe some granola or rice crispies, not sure. But as soon as I had one, I fell in love with it! My friend would shoplift a bunch for me in the past when we were kids since they usually were placed right next to his favorite candy too. That was also back when I did not think stealing was wrong though, but at the time, free candy was free candy!

I stopped getting them since I believe they either go bad fast, or stopped making them, because anytime I buy one from a store, the candy tastes stale or has a wrong-feeling bite into it. Makes me thing either the stores or company had a surplus of them and just wanted to get rid of the old ones. Shame, cause it was REALLY good.

Sometimes companies cutback and the quality of their products suffer. A good example is Witman's chocolates... those used to be the best chocolates ever in my opinion... A Chico-stick! First off, I can not tell if I think the name of it could be used as a racial slur or not and second it tastes strange but really good. I like them but I am very confused by them, and they start hurting my teeth after a few bites so I'm always like why do you taste so good if you hurt me so bad?!

If it causes a significant drop in sales, chances are, the old recipe will come back. I tend not to be forgiving though. If something suddenly starts tasting bad, I'm gonna be very weary of it and probably not buy it again... unless I taste someone else's and it happens to be fine. But I won't spend my own money on it if I'm not sure.

While it may be common to some, I saw some "candy" at the store a while back, that was simply pineapple rings coated with chili powder. Sounds nasty to me, but I'm too adventurous to not try it if it were offered.
However the wierdest I've actually eaten when I was little, my brother and I got some wierd candy from a convenience store that was just plain nasty. I don't know what it was, only that the label was in spanish and the candy was in a syringe-type container that really resembled bug poison. lol You squrted it into your mouth by pushing on the handle, and it was pastey. We both tossed ours after a bite or two.

It is a Japanese candy. The wrapper is green with characters I don't know on it. I heard it was lychee?  Anyway my parents tried it and thought it tasted like soap. The candy did get a little funky after a while, but still had a fruit flavor to it also
