I have a fun little challenge for everyone, including myself. INstead of sandwich posting, why don't we all pick one specific serial killer. Kind of like, doing our homework for the sake of making this thread a little more detailed. And we can find, in our own personal opinion, which serial killer you think it the most disturbed. We can then can discuss reasons we think they ended up becoming a serial killer. You don't HAVE to do this but I thought it would be something fun and interesting for all of us to do.

I think that murderes are horrible people and deserve a public torture or something haha. Really i feel bad for the victims and their families from these crimes. I have watched a couple of the famous serial killers and it makes me think how cruel some people can be.

XxEzraxX : Yes you can do research on Manson. I'm going to take Jack the Ripper. So it will be a few days before I post my reply. I want to get as much information as possible.

Anyone else want to have a specific person to research, just let us know who that is so we don't get two people researching the same individual.

I'll have to pass on this suggestion...

I literally don't have the power to stomach that kind of behavior. Having to study and take a zero in school on Albert Fish was bad enough...

Here is some information I found on Jack the Ripper. I didn't want to get too detailed since this is a family friendly site. If anyone is offended by my research, I apologize.

Jack the Ripper, also known as "The Whitechapel Murderer" and the "Leather Apron". Jack the Ripper was a serial killer that attacked and mutilated prostitutes back in the late 1800's. Around the time of the killings, there were estimated to be about 1200 prostitutes and about 62 brothels in Whitechapel. At that time, Whitechapel was notorious for being known as "the den of immorality".

Eleven separate murders, stretching from April 3, 1888 to February 13, 1891. They were at the time referred to as the "Whitechapel murders". Jack the Ripper had a very distinct signature when murdering his victims. They consisted of deep throat slashes, abdominal and genital-area mutilation, removal of internal organs, and progressive facial mutilations. He also sexually assaulted them in very brutal ways. It was one of the centuries most disturbing crimes.

The canonical five, who were known as Ripper's first five victims were, Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes and Mary Jane Kelly. Why was he never caught? Because the lack of forensic knowledge made it hard for detectives to identify him. Almost 300 subjects were interviewed, and criminal profiling was done in order to try to identify the kind of man he was, and a list of suspects was generated.

The criminal profile of Jack the Ripper was as follows: "All five murders no doubt were committed by the same hand. In the first four the throats appear to have been cut from left to right, in the last case owing to the extensive mutilation it is impossible to say in what direction the fatal cut was made, but arterial blood was found on the wall in splashes close to where the woman's head must have been lying. All the circumstances surrounding the murders lead me to form the opinion that the women must have been lying down when murdered and in every case the throat was first cut." - Quoted from medical examiner, Dr. Thomas Bond.

It was believed that the suspect had possessed some kind of scientific or anatomical knowledge or even "the technical knowledge of a butcher or horse slaughterer".

"The killer must have been a man of solitary habits, subject to periodical attacks of homicidal and erotic mania, with the character of the mutilations possibly indicating satyriasis". - Quoted from medical examiner Dr. Thomas Bond.

While there is no evidence of any sexual activity with any of the victims, it is believed that the victims were displayed in a sexually disgraceful position as a means of humiliating them.

Over the course of the Ripper murders, the police, newspapers and others received many hundreds of letters regarding the case. The letters claimed to be written by the killer himself. This fact is unknown whether or not the letters actually were written by Jack the Ripper himself. Many theories have been sought out over the years.

This case has remained unsolved since the investigation started. Will it ever be solved? Will we ever find out who Jack the Ripper really was? I guess some things remain a mystery.

@Sairek Ceareste -  You don't have to do any research if you don't want to. I am just trying to make this thread more challenging and give other members a chance to participate in the discussion.

Okay Charles Manson, I went and skimmed through the book Helter Skelter (all about Manson written by Vincent Bugliosi [the detective of the Manson case] and Curt Gentry [just a writer there is no significance to him in this case]) and here is some information that I have concluded:

Charles Manson (born November 12, 1934 [age 77] Cincinnati, OH [ha I live in Cincinnati]) has to be one of the first of cases where a man was charged with murder, without ever even notably murdering anybody. Manson or Jesus Christ as some people called him, was a cult leader from the 60's called The Family. He tended to pick up mostly girls, and anybody who felt alienated by society like he has been. Manson has a very large criminal record, even before the murder charges. Manson's first charges consisted of:
Burglarizing a grocery store (a few of them actually)
Escaped from Indianapolis Juvenile center, and was captured soon after
Escaped a Boys Town with another boy and committed armed robberies on their way to the boys uncles
Escaped in 1951 from Indianapolis Boys School with two other boys
The three of them were caught in Utah driving stolen vehicles on their way to California
On the way to California they robbed several gas stations

Mansons first imprisonment was in October 1951 and was recommended by a Psychiatrist. He was then transferred to National Bridge Honor Camp (a maximum security institution) where he took a razor blade and held it against another boys throat while sodomizing him, and that was less than a month before his parole hearing (February 1952). But I suppose his early imprisonment is not as important as his later actions with The Family (and believe me there was more than just one imprisonment).

Most of the victims of The Family were rich or in some way a celebrity. The first real slayings were violent, and had strange words like piggies, or healter skealter written on the walls in the victims blood. The list of victims is many and consists of:
1. Gary Allen Hinman (December 24, 1936 - July 31, 1969) a music teacher, paw prints were placed next to the words "political piggies" in the blood of Gary to make it seem like the black panthers had committed the murder. Official cause of death stab wound to the chest.
2. Sharon Marie Tate (January 24, 1943 - August 9. 1969) an actress who at the time of death was pregnant. It was said that the family members intended to cut the baby out from her but was never performed. The words "Healter Skelter" and " Piggies" were written on the door and refrigerator.
3. Abigail Anne Folger (August 11, 1943 - August 9, 1969) Heir to the Folger Coffee company, she was a guest at Sharon Tates home (10050 Cielo Drive) the night of the murders along with a few others.
4. Voytek Frykowski (December 22, 1936 - August 9, 1969) a textile printer who lost his business during the Nazi occupation of Poland during World War II, he was also present at the Tate resident.
5. Steven Earl Parent (February 12, 1951 - August 9, 1969) I couldn't really find much on him, but he was also present at the Tate resident.
6. Thomas J. Kummer aka Jay Sebring (October 10, 1933 - August 9, 1969) he became famous for his hairstyles and would go on to make an amazing career out of it, he was also present at the Tate resident.
7. Paul Richard Polanski (was never born - August 10, 1969) the unborn child of Sharon Tate and director Roman Polanski.
8. Leno LaBianca (August 6, 1925 - August 9, 1969) he had no real role in anything, he was not famous or a celebrity he was chosen for death so that the cops and detectives would be thrown off track. The word "war" was carved in his stomach.
9. Rosemary LaBianca (December 15, 1930 - August 10, 1969) was married to Leno and was killed at the same location as her husband.
10. Ronald Hughes (March 16, 1935 - November 1970) was the attorney for Leslie Van Houten during the murder trails, and when he wouldn't cooperate with the Manson girls and say that they were the ones who were responsible and not Manson disappeared shortly after. His decomposing body was found four months later near the Sespe Hot Springs.
11. George Spahn (February 11, 1889 - September 22, 1974) he was the owner of a place called Spahn Ranch, which was used as a refuge for the Manson family.

The amazing and fascinating part of Manson and his family is that the family themselves treated Manson as if he were God. They often referred to him as Jesus Christ or JC. He managed to brainwash his followers (mostly the girls) with the use of LSD, he got inside of their heads and reprogrammed them to do what he had wanted. It was said that he often controlled when they took a hit of LSD and how many and when they where to have sex even an orgy if he willed it, and he would control the whole thing, telling people who would be in it who would do what with who etc. It amazes me how much control this one man had over this group of people.

There may be more to be added at some point, I just kind of feel like I went a little overboard with this post XP
