Anyone ever have a tea party? I remember when I was little, I don't recall my age, but I had a tea party with my Mom, sister and some family friends. She made tea, and like tiny sandwiches and I think she had some cookies out for us kids. It was the only one we ever had but it was really fun. I remember really enjoying it.

aww that does sound like fun!  I don't think me or my sisters were ever into the whole tea party thing though  None of us ever did that, though we did have barbies with tons of tea party stuff.  We just never played it. LOL

I don't know about tea parties but me and my best friend you used to play "restaurant" in like 6th grade, hahah. It was basically the same thing. We'd take turns waiting on each other/taking orders and then making each other these ridiculous extravagant three course meals, haha.

Well, Don't know if this counts...

But me, my sister, and two friends had a tea party but without the Tea... It had Sandwiches and all the thing, but we were drinking something else instead of Tea.

I did that at my cousin house. His little sister want us to be in the tea party, and his mom force him and he dragged along the way. Their mom do make really good sandwiches though. Also I just notice that weird things like this all happen when I go to my cousin house.

I've had Tea Ceremonies... not really the same as tea parties aside from the drinking tea. My mother (who is Japanese) would occasionally have them to keep with tradition and stay in touch with her roots. She would serve green tea (not like the kind you get in the supermarket... this stuff was really bitter) and sweets. I mostly liked to sweets myself :p

It was this really elaborate and elegant event... it was kinda like a work of art they way my mom performed the ceremonies. I don't think I could ever host that sorta thing. I don't have that kinda gracefulness... not even close >.>

I think the practice dates all the way back to the 9th century or so. Back in ancient Japan, they used to construct actual tea rooms specifically for holding these events. The rooms were designed with the idea of creating a balanced atmosphere sorta like the Chinese concept of feng shui.

It was kinda fun being part of that growing up even if I didn't really understand what was going on as a kid. We got to dress up in kimonos and stuff too.

Haha! I still have tea parties with my friends. I'll brew some of my better quality tea, make snacks, and set the table very nicely and even use nice china. No need to stop or feel like you can't enjoy a cup of tea and some snacks with a friend. If you're still in school - it's a nice thing to do Friday afternoons...or even if you aren't in school, any time you can.

I have 2 (almost 3) daughters. I have no choice but to have tea parties with them. Of course it's not real tea right now. We either have water or nothing. Honestly, I prefer nothing to drinking water out of plastic cups that are probably not clean.
