I have an idea. A light bulb has went off in my head the way a light bulb does. Here it is- Vizzed Radio!

Before you nix the idea, think of hearing the latest news, and music as well as some random jokes and commentary from the vizzed board in AUDIO. Pretty cool, eh? I'd love to do this but have no idea who to go to or nothing. So if I can dig up any supporters just post here and maybe we can make Vizzed radio happen. I also have always wanted to deejay so....hey presto.

I would really want a feature like this. I hope a lot of people support it.

We've had suggestions like this pretty often.

And we've had people attempt similar things. Although the voice should be someone more prominent than you, I don't disagree with the idea.

I would like to make a new one. Not sure if I can keep it active though.

I still think a radio show for Vizzed complete with news about the site and music, and whatever else is a good idea. Other people could deejay it as an announcer if not me. (switch people out) This could work people!

Kind of a cool idea, but it would probably take a lot of commitment and would also be hard to adjust to. And with all the (likely) diverse musical tastes on the site, it would be hard to play music which everyone would enjoy. But than again, it could go through cycles of different genres and stuff to be fair.

It would be a lot of fun to have. Here's an idea for it:

- Alternate who the DJ is. Trusted Members & Up Only
- Add a "DJ License" item to the store? Only Trusted Members & Up can buy. Any member with it can be "DJ".
- Random online DJ would be picked to DJ. When that DJ quits, s/he has the option of picking another DJ. If s/he doesn't, then the site will automatically assign a DJ.
- Radio would have to have an auto-pilot music-only mode for when no DJs are available.
- Ads could be "purchased" for adding to the radio.

Cool idea but there's already something similar to "Vizzed Radio" as you will see/read in the following thread.

The only exception is there isn't "current events or things going on in the news" just music. It's also ran solely by Silverthundr, so if he isn't online or DJing, nobody will/can.

It's a good idea considering Silvers radio thread is inactive and has been for awhile now but as someone already mentioned, it'll take a lot of time and dedication for it to be successful.

I'd be willing to help out too; you see my suggestions. I think it's something that would need to be coded though.

I can help not dj but planning of this thing. I know some video game djs that I can get advice. I also know a lot of free video game music websites and know a lot about making shows.

This station should only play video game music since this is a video game website. Playing other things would just not work. It's a good idea not to be everything and stick to one thing you know people come for. For our radio station it will be video game music.

I have a lot of other show ideas so just ask and I can give info on how to do it.

Live shows can also boost forum and chat activity allowing people to participate in the show. It will have to be done by the person who owns the station and runs it. Also if you want more than one dj for a live show you can use skype now instead of the phone.

RequiemHaunt : Video Game music gets too repetitive. Sure, video games is what people come for - but if they are muting their game to listen to music, they're not going to want /more/ video game music. They're going to want real music.

As for the rest, could you describe what you mean by the individual shows?

I need to put this in perspective for you.

A country station will not play pop, rock, techno
A classical station will not play country, pop, rock, techno
An oldies station will only play the top 20 or 50 songs of certain old decades such 50,60,70 decades.

This means a video game website should not be playing anything other than music relating to video games. This can include osts of movies/shows that relate to video games.

Shows on the radio are regularly put on during the week. They will specialize in one type of music. Such as one show could go live (concert) video game music one hour on one day of the week. Usually during prime time between 7 pm and 10 pm. The dj for this show will make episodes making a theme for that show. You can make other shows too like a remix show where you play only remixes of video game music.

When I first saw this topic, I thought you were gonna suggest having video game music randomly play in some kinda VGM radio station... which would totally be awesome but this is interesting too.

Well, it's been a little while since I read through but I thought that the DJ idea was put down as not being something that could be kept up with. I suppose that I was wrong though.

Maybe I could put something together to do an unofficial Vizzed Radio thing, but I'd want to know who would actually do it.
