Okay if this needs to be moved, feel free to do so. I want to say something to every member of vizzed. First, my sincerest apologies for any recent and past drama I've caused. I really don't like myself at all. If I get offensive, that's because I am angry at myself. I should know better. I know I've made it so hard for a lot of members to try and enjoy the site. I don't want to be like this. I really, really don't. I am going to try really hard to change. I've asked a global to help me out with knowing what I need to change to make the site better for other members and how I can become a better member. Please, I am being 100 percent sincere. I don't like being this way. I don't like the way I react to things. I do get offended very easily. I have no patience. Trust me, I know this about myself. And like any other human being, I hate to admit it but I know it's true. All I can do for everyone is try to change. I am even going to therapy for this. I will work hard to be a better member. I will do my utmost to not say mean or hateful things. If I get offended, I will try very, very hard to just keep my thoughts to myself. I really am going to work on everything I need to. I know actions speak louder than words so I am going to back this up with better actions. The point of this post is to sincerely apologize to anyone I've ever hurt, offended or upset in anyway. I'm not perfect, not even close. But all I can do is try to change for the better. I want you all to be able to come to this site and have peace when I'm around. I'm kind of conflicted, because while I think it's cool that you're making a commitment to yourself to change for the better and to acknowledge your faults, I'm also having a huge case of "Holy sh*t, it's just the internet. Why so serious?" I know I bother you a lot, but it's not like I hate you or anything dramatic. You're just someone who's easily riled and puts yourself out there for negative attention, and I'm just blunt and a terrible person, so it's kind of a sh*t storm waiting to happen. I personally relish our disputes, as do most of the other people I know who have arguments with you. Because you're THAT GUY. The person on the internet who takes everything personal and too seriously even when it's irrelevant or silly to do so. The internet lives to bother people like you. So I don't think it's so much that you're imperfect or there's anything wrong with you in such a dramatic way, it's just, you put yourself out there and people bite. Also, you're easily baited. So, while I can see how you can attribute all these things to impatience and being easily offended, I really don't think it's that complicated.
But, I do appreciate your sentiment. It's a big step to admit your flaws, and it's a bigger step to decide to change. Again, I really don't think it's that big of a deal in the internet sense (I won't assume to know you, because I don't, js) but I'm sure you have your reasons. You really don't make the board intolerable; sometimes you get chat going with silliness, but I always thought it was funny so I guess I'm disappointed in that regard. But I s'pose this way is better for you, so I'll put aside my selfish thoughts and whimsical ways. But anyone who thinks you make the board a worse place is a whiner and they don't know anything, because you really don't make that much of a stink. So anyway, I digress. KG : First of all, thank you for taking the time to read my thread. I really appreciate it. What I wanted to say that your reply really helps me know what I can do to change. You're right, I do take things to seriously and it is just the internet. I am a sensitive person and I don't mean to be. That's something else I want to change. To try not to take things too personally. And sometimes I end up misunderstanding something and the person probably doesn't even mean like any harm but I get offended. Anyway, I just wanted to post this thread so everyone can know that I don't like being this way. Also, being on the internet, it's hard for me to know someone's intentions, since I can't see their facial expression or hear their voice. I'm sure you know what I mean. I support you completely, I think it is wonderful that you would try to make things better not only for yourself, but for other people as well. I also see what KG is saying though, I mean even though (I don't know anything that you have said or done I am just kind of giving you an opinion and my support) you probably said some mean or hurtful things to other people online, you kind of have to take into consideration that it is just the Internet and you more than likely will never ever see anybody on here. But I do think it is great that you feel sorry for what you have said or done and I do support you completely and I wish you luck. |

Alright Sunflower I really hope you can really change for the better. It's good that your are getting therapy for this. I don't know you that much yet but I hope you will become a better person and overcome your problems. Try not to pay attention to anything that can easily piss you off, that's what I do. No one is perfect but taking a step forward for yourself can be one of the best accomplishments in your life. All my life I had low self esteem and never really talked to anyone because I always feared what people would think of me. I'm slowly starting to change that about myself .But anyways, I wish you luck for a better future Sunflower.  |

I support anyone who realizes their issues and makes an effort to improve themselves. It isn't about what mistakes you make, but what you learn from them. There are so many people who repeat the same mistakes their whole lives through, and those are the people who only end up digging themselves into an even deeper hole. The only people who can truly be helped are those who are willing to help themselves. No trial is ever easy, but realization is always the first step. For those of you who say that the internet should be taken lightly, there are a few things you should consider. Although the people we meet online begin as strangers, so do the people we meet in person, and often times in this day and age people begin friendships online. I have known many people who have made life-long friends and even found love that they have taken to real life, in which if it weren't for the internet, would not have been possible. It happens more often than you think, and as technology continues to grow and provide new ways of communication, this trend will only become more popular. Think of all the people out there that may have an incapacitating handicap or disability; the internet may be their only means of communication with the world, and thus mean much more to them than the average person. Just because one person doesn't take something seriously, doesn't mean the next person may not get seriously hurt or offended. Honestly, my diagnosis would be bi-polar disorder, but of course I am not a doctor. There are chemical imbalances in the brain that can cause some people to not be able to help how they feel about situations, but that does not exempt them from learning how to control their reactions. I have known people who were extra-sensitive and emotional in situations that were not all that serious, and could undergo mood changes on a whim. There are chemical imbalances in the brain that can cause some people to not be able to help how they feel about situations, but that does not exempt them from learning how to control their reactions. Ultimately, for those of us who exhibit the ability to think before we act, we have little excuse not to. |
