Well the first date my husband took me on, was a romantic night out.  First we went to see a movie.  Then we had dinner at one of the finest restaurants.  Lastly, we walk along the shore side under a beautiful night sky.  I have never since had a moment like.

pretty much what everyone else is saying, definitely not a movie theatre, you dont even get to talk in there, maybe in the beginning or end but not a first date type of deal.

I have had my share of wild ones and wild places, but to be honest I really like the "conversations at a coffee house" kind of outings.
These days I tend to look at my wallet allot more than I did before.
Before I used to have a suprise adventure with a trip to a secluded swimming hole that only a small group of friends knew about. We'd barbeque some burgers and swim and enjoy the man made lake. Maybe even Camp there when the night falls. (It was a rock quarry in Princeton N.C. Long ago filled with water and abandoned. It goes about a half a mile deep. I think it is used for irrigation purposes now. Don't know. The Mirror image of the Moon and Stars was fantastic at night. The Pine Trees and a Camp Fire just made the whole thing beautiful.)
Another good outing is the "House party" with a live Band Playing. (Having a band has it's advantages folks.)
Those were my outings from my youth. Now I like museums, parks, Beaches, Comedy Clubs, and Good Old Fashioned "Flix".
Really its the simple dinner and coffee outings I like more than the impressive "Letter home stuff". Rock Climbing, Sky Diving, and Sea Diving are all fun, but still lack allot of "personality".
There's a Title to a show that marks my sentiments perfectly.
"Plain Folks Blues". (Don't expect for me to reveal the show. It's too silly.)

i let her decide where we go

I've never really been interested in relationships before... but if I was going to go on a date with someone I'd go somewhere they wanted to go to. :3

Chuck E Cheese! Ha just kidding, I would probably go somewhere in a nice restaurant and maybe take a good friend that I can trust for advice so I am not alone to make conversation. And after dinner I would take her to a movie we both like or maybe do an activity we bogh enjoy, like bowling or going to the beach or something like that. Nowhere public or crowded or any place I could get distracted from her. So no shoppung malls,a noisy bar or anywhere with loud annoying people.

Well, I just recently got out of a relationship because she was too annoying. Haha, anyways, I would take her downtown and look at all the shops.  Then, I would take her to a nice restaurant, and then I would take her to a little secret place where we can just chill and talk. I am a very easy person to talk to, so I can make good conversation. I wouldn't take her to like a strip club or anything haha.  After that, if she is satisfied with me, we can go on another date together!

I have avoided relationships, but if I did go on a date I would take her someplace quiet. The park or some other place were we could talk and get to know one another. Maybe a place of learning like a museum or a zoo.

Hmm, I'd say I tend to take guys to fun events going on in town that involve movement for when/if the conversation reaches a lull. Bowling is a nice first date. A quick bite to eat is ok too. Coffee is fine as well. I try to aim for two hours or less on the first date, so as long as we're moving and talking, I'm usually game. 

I agree with many of the others in this post. Loud places filled with distractions, such as a bar/night club are horrible places to try and hold a conversation. Movie theaters are bad too, you can't really get to know them while staring at a screen.

It really boils down to who you're asking out though. Where I take them depends on who they are and what they're into.

I'd hype the date then take them on a simple picnic. It's basic, cheap and generally very enjoyable as long as I can avoid being awkward.

I would probably take my date to a nice place to eat, that way we could talk and get to know each other a little better. The follow that with a movie trip or something.

I would ask her where she would like to go, and base it off that. I would try and find a good medium between where I would like to go and where she would like to go. Of course, I would be having a girlfriend with the same or similar interests as me, or it would never work.

I would normally ask where they want to go, mostly because I don't want to take them where they don't want to go.

The best place for a first date is a restaurant (mine was Asian). That's what I did (we first fell in love in a bar), and it went well.

Being as I have much experience with first dates I have learned that you don't have to blow a month's salary to be romantic and impress someone on a first date. I would most likely take her to my favorite place to get very good burgers, Biff's (in San Antonio, TX voted best burger in town). After eating I would invite her to take a stroll with me along the river walk (it can be quite romantic at night depending upon what part of the river walk you are on). You'd be surprised how many people have lived in San Antonio all of their lives but have never experienced the romantic side of the city.

 I would take her to the movies. And then dinner. Or the other way around But I would let her choose the movie and I would have her pick the restaurant. I would do whatever it takes to make her happy. We would watch the movie and snuggle up in the theater chairs, and of course, I would end the date with a sweet, nice kiss.
