With signing a new contract with the Saints, he has set a record with the highest paid QB in franchise history. With 5 years $100 million contract $60 Million Guaranteed. What do you think will be the outcome? Will it affect Brees's performance?

That is ridiculous...

Seriously.

No player in the NFL is worth 10 million. Let alone 20 per season.

They play 16 games + playoffs.

If a player is making 20 million a year, and they don't make the playoffs, they are getting paid 1.25 million dollars per game.

That's an example of why I dislike Football. All athletes are overpaid, but the football ones take the cake with the highest salaries per game

they should pay his O line. the only reason why he broke passing records was because of the good protection and all his weapons. whenever hes under pressure, he throws them picks

If he generates that much in jersey sales, it's worth the money.  GOod for him.

He won his Super Bowl. I honestly don't think New Orleans will win another under Drew Brees. I do expect them to make the playoffs though.

The name that keeps coming to my mind is Jeremy Shockey. What  a great player he is. I don't know if he is with NO anymore though.

The saints had their time in the spotlight. The had the feel good story. Now it is time for other teams to step it up. I predict Cam Newton will have another good season. I also think that Tim Tebow will be the Jets starting QB by season's end, assuming he doesn't get hurt.

With all of the commercials he's in, I would think he's already making enough money.

I'd play quarterback for a professional team for the league minimum which is about $400,000 right now. I'd play quarterback for 1/4 or even an 1/8 of it. It's a dangerous game but I'd be living a dream and still make decent money

pacman1755 : Well he tried to single-handedly carry his team all the way to the playoffs and after a dismal start he started getting them into position. Ultimately though those two games where he threw like 8 INTS combined (rare for him) pretty much put the nail in the coffin.

There's no doubt of his importance to that team though. I would think that the Saints should feel like he's worth every penny.

Lets face it. Drew Brees is worth that amount of money. Without him the Saints offense isn't the same with him on the field. Not to mention we know the defense can't carry the team, so Brees and the offense has to.

RealBrickz : Remember that there is a risk of injury so that 400,000 dollars would be going toward treatment/surgery (I could be wrong, I would have thought that the NFL Players have a healthcare system installed.)

Oldschool41 : I'm sure there's some sort of healthcare installed and there's risks at every job, actually got stabbed at work a couple months ago at work and I'm a cashier/Uscan attendant.
