you know how a bunch of people just join and never make a post because they only want the roms and such? maybe we should make it so you can't play any of the games or become a gyr member until you have 10 posts on the board. if they're spam you can always ban the person. so, what do you think?

I noticed you have called out some folks that were here just for the ROMs... what exactly does that mean? I found Eversion (which thanks to this website I have nightmares about, thank you very much) and King's Quest... but is there something else I'm missing?

I am interested in learning about creating flashes... maybe there's something here I need to search for

well its mostly in response to the user list, if you go to it you will see that alot of the recent signups have no posts or 1 post asking to put games in one download.

and yeah, the Flash & Game Development section might be worth looking into PDB

And I really think that idea will help out alot.

However, requiring people to register here in order to download from GYR I think could potentially ruin some of our traffic on GYR so that one I'd like to avoid.

well, you can download without becoming a gyr member (with me as the perfect example for that) and I don't like the pay per play idea unless there's a way in getting the Viz back if you get a certain score (which doesn't seem to be possible)

Pay to play, it should be more of a pay to unlock. You get 5 free plays of a game, after that it costs 10 Viz to unlock it for unlimited usage. Just because i close/open my game window 100 times a day, dosnt mean I should pay 500 Viz.

hmm i'd say to make traffic a little better offer some of the games in the member section in bigger parts bc from what i've seen its either games i don't want, or games that just aren't goood[and i don;t see why theres soundtracks personally i like the music in games but not enough to download them] maybe make the members page more diffcult to access like what ziggy said but with more posts = better the reward. Say someone wants the star wars chirstmas special so you would make it so they would have to do like 10 or so posts. and i think you get the picture.

And the whole "pay to play" thing i really hate, but makes me want it more :]

Another way to help promote board activity would be through the online games we play. We can spam on are friend list about this site and to come register (hint,hint referrals ¬_¬)

Spam is never the soloution, only a bigger problem .

Well it's the thought that counts but the good thing is only people on my friend list can see what i'm typing so it really wouldn't be alot of spamming Also there's a message board that all online players can see sorta like an advertisement where you put in your request to either sell an item or looking to buy an item. I'll post the URL to this site every day, hopefully some people will come check us out and Boom Headshot more board activity

how about 5 free plays then 50 Viz to unlock the game? That way you need to actually be posting a little to have the games

That is actually a really good idea however it will increase spamming because if that's all they want is to play the game they won't think straight when posting, hence, they will make spam posts. But it's worth a try.

Only real problem I see with it is lazyness. If people don't get to play it right away they will look on other sites. Kind of like other rom sites where you have to wait 10 seconds until you can download it. People don't like delays they want stuff for free and they want it NOW

Personally, I'd want that "OR" to be an "AND".

I'm new, so take my opinion for what its worth. I think making people be active on the boards to download ROMS is a really bad idea. If it were set up that way, I would have left and got my ROMS elsewhere, and never joined the forums. Traffic would go down and so would the value of the advertising here. It seems like the whole thing blows up if you force people to join.

I think CPM has got it right. There is always somewhere to find these roms.... obviously there is if you managed to find them and get them here. However, not many places feel as safe to download from as this place does. The forum itself makes it seem like a legitimate place and not some site that is just going to dump spyware or viruses onto your computer. I think the people that are going to join the forums will join regardless of what you do.... and those that aren't going to join the forums will go somewhere else if they have to jump through too many hoops to get what they came for.

I think more effort should be put into making the forums a place people want to come to. Adding more features, games, etc and making it a fun place is what will attract people to stay, not forcing them to post 10 times in order to play certain games. And I think the opinion of someone who just joined might be indicative of at least some of the people who have come here recently.

I think some people are forgetting the point here. The reason why people need to sign up and make posts in order to play the games makes perfect sense. Each game a person plays takes up quite a bit of bandwidth and that can add up really fast. I myself have put many hours into adding the game pages, adding pictures, and such as well as Dark and Davideo7. It's all about being apart of Vizzed's community.

Now on the other hand there is always Get-Your-Rom which requires no voting, no registering, no wait times in order to download games so you can always go there.

But yea, no other place will be as good as Vizzed, we plan to have many more features up and I think we are one of the top gaming sites to be apart of in combination with GYR, we work really hard to provide games, support, and features for all

Jigsaw, like always, pretty much said everything I was going to say lol.

People are only required to get 10 posts for 4 different files. No one is actually coming here to download roms except the FF7 NES rom. http://www.get-your-rom.com is the rom site which me and Jigsaw own and it has no requirements to download the files.

Now the only reason why people are posting here is to earn Viz to play the games on this site. On this site, people can play NES, GB and GBC games but I did have to put a small Viz price to play the games since they suck up tons of bandwidth, I needed to reduce the amount of games people play and it's also a nice way to increase traffic and the value of Viz...and it's obviously done a really good job at helping activity around here. Additionally, people register and automatically get enough Viz to "purchase" a few games which they can play infinite times.
