Mario is the most famous icon in the whole world. And now,you get to express your feelings about his games,what do you like? What do you NOT like. Vote between 3D Platforming,Side scrolling and RPGs. Opinions are fun to say,so say them now with this poll! PS,I like RPGs.

I really like the Super Mario Galaxy games, so I guess I like the 3D games more.  On top of that, Super Mario 64 is one of the greatest games I have ever played, adding to why I like the 3D games.

3D platforming is definitely the best for Mario games because it had some of the best games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. Even more like New Super Mario Bros and Super Mario 64 DS.

Super Mario Sunshine may be favourite Mario game my favourite genre of game is RPG so I have to say the RPG Mario games are best hehe ^^; hopefully that makes some sense

I like the side scrolling Mario games best because they are simple and basic.

I really think that mario is at his best in 3D unlike a certain OTHER franchise *cough* SONIC *cough*. I really like the 3D Games (Except Sunshine) and I really think that it's the way of the future for Mario....even if NSMBU is 2D

Even if 3D games are awesome... I'll stick with Side Scrolling, Classic and simple. I like that.

The 3d games are awesome especially sunshine. Sunshine is probably my favourite Mario game and I think that there should be a sequel on the 3ds

I voted side scrolling, but really all three are so awesome. It's impossible to choose the best. I'm playing paper mario in the RGR right now and it is extremely fun.

I like the 3D best with RPG a very close second. Side-scrolling is great too, It's what started the whole franchise!

I don't even know why they made 3d or RPG Marios. Couldn't they just stick with platforming? Anyways, side-scrolling is my favorite. 

3D platforming is just amazing. The side scrolling was just OK. Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario 64 was awesome and I loved how they did it.

Side scrolling, it just keeps it simpler; although I do like the Mario and Luigi series.

You totally need to make it where you can choose multiple times because I couldn't decide between 3-D and side-scrolling. Me and my good friend have spent hours conquering New Super Mario Bros. Wii. But the 3-D games have a charm that I just can't ignore.

i think the best mario games are the paper mario games necause they usually have a funny diologue and you are 2d in a world of 3d and it is RPG with HP and stuff like that

   I grew up playing Mario 1-3 on NES and Super Mario World for SNES. They are great games, that's the reason why people are still playing them right now... on this very website. However, when Nintendo 64 came out with Mario 64 along side, it was revolutionary. I remember being in Jr. High playing this game with a few friends and trying to find every star. It was amazing. The triple jump, the wall kicks... The control you had over Mario was something that was unbelievable for the time. That was the start. Eventually branching out into Sunshine, and the Galaxy games, the 3D Mario games only got better. That's why they are number one to me.
   And that's coming from an old-school gamer who loves RPG's... go figure

Given the parameters of the poll, I'm not sure how I want to vote. See, I consider the Mario Galaxy games a separate series (or subseries, if you will) from the other 3D games--not sure where I place 3D Land, either as a continuation of the Galaxy games or of the Mario Land games. So, from the perspective, I'm inclined to say the 3D games, but that would only be 64 and Sunshine, and that's a bit chintzy.

On a similar note, the New Super Mario Bros. games are just far enough removed from the older 2D Mario games that I'm inclined to separate them into two groups. There's also the Super Mario Land subseries, composed of either 2, 3, or 4 games, depending on how you look at it.

And then you have the Mario RPGs. I'm willing to grant that the Mario & Luigi game are a continuation of the original Super Mario RPG, but those 4 games are definitely a separate subseries from the 4 Paper Mario games.

On top of all that, what about the other games, like Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., and Wrecking Crew? I consider those separate from the other 2D games as well, not that I expect anyone to pick them as their favorite series.

So, we have:

Arcade-Style Mario,

Original 2D Mario,

Super Mario Lands,

Original Mario RPGs,

Original 3D Mario,

Paper Marios,

and the Super Mario Galaxy games.

You can see where I would have a hard time choosing one favorite from all that. I guess if I had to, I would still say the original 3D Mario games, in the hopes that we get another game closer to them, rather than continuing to follow in Galaxy's footsteps.
