Day 1 - July 1st-July 2nd

Choose a Team Name and Captain

In your team threads, you have already met your new team mates. Now you get to do your first team activity!

In your team thread, discuss what you want your team name to be. At the end, your team captain (if you have one, if you don't we'll use the honor system ) will submit a list of 3 names. I will ok ones that are appropriate. You will choose from the list of approved names, and that will be your new team name.

Reward - 10 points to best team name. 5 to second best team name. Nothing to the other two teams.

If you need clarification, do not hesitate to contact me!

Well every team ALREADY COMPLETED THE ACTIVITY.

First of all... time to tell the teams who won!

TEAM NAME COMPETITION

4th - Slam Dunk Base - Seriously, what is this? I mean, I remember it easily enough, which is great, but I'm not getting the reference... is there a reference? Aside from just basketball in general?

3rd - The Ultimate Vizzards - One knock, it took me a while to remember this name... sure it's referencing Vizzed, but I'm not the type of guy who will award points for that alone. Nice try though.

2nd - Trailmachines: Fellowship of (the) Right - It's a DF reference, which is better than not referencing anything I guess. Not really a handy name for typing, and I can tell I'll definitely just be calling you the Trailmachines on occasion, since the name is so long, but you guys did well enough to get 2nd. You earn 5 points for your effort.

1st - The Fighting Mongooses - OK, I'll say this right now. I LOVE Futurama. So this reference was NOT lost on me. On top of that, I just can't disagree with Fry (even if it isn't the Fry from the "normal" universe.) It is a pretty cool team name, and I kind of like the fact it actually sounds like something a team would use. You sirs, win 10 points, and take a quick lead in this camp's games.

I'll put the points in a separate thread for your viewing.

Also, I was very tempted to give bonus points to more than 1 team, but as it's the first day, I'll hold off.

NOW ITS TIME TO ANNOUNCE DAY 2's ACTIVITY.

Day 2 - July 1st-July 2nd (earlier if all team's finish)

Make a Team Flag

Here are the rules.

1. It has to be appropriate.
2. It has to be made by you. I can't check everything, but let's use the honor system here.
3. The size dimensions should be between 200 by 200 and 400 by 300. You are free to hit any range, but if your flag is too big, I'll have to resize it to fit needs.
4. It has to follow your team name. IE - If your team is called The Mega Banana Squad, I don't want just a picture of a toilet on your flag. I want to see something that tells me you are the Mega Banana Squad.
5. You ARE allowed to use text, but you may not have JUST text on the flag. You need to put SOME sort of image on it that is visible without using a magnifying glass.
6. Your deadline, again, is July 2nd. You can make one AFTER that date, but it will not count for points in this exercise.
7. Everyone should work on it if they can (at least pitch ideas... I obviously only expect one or two people to actually flesh it out.)
8. When you are done, the team captain (if you have one) should either summon me to the team thread to judge it, or send it to me via PM. Either way is fine.

Now now, I know what you are asking. What is the reward?

On top of having a kickass flag for the rest of camp...

1st - 30 points
2nd - 20 points
3rd - 10 points
4th - 5 points

You will also get 5 bonus points if you can tastefully use the colors blue or green (Vizzed's colors) anywhere on the flag. However, the blue and green must at least be CLOSE to the blue and green you see on Vizzed.

4th - Slam Dunk Base

I'm going to point out the things I like and dislike about this. I like that it fits the team's name. Dwight Howard is a hell of a dunker. And it's clear that's a basketball hoop. I'll tell you what I don't like. I don't like the green ground. I get that it's probably grass. But I don't remember the last time I saw anyone play basketball on grass. It felt like they put that there just so they had the green they needed for bonus points. I also don't like the fire text... that was completely unneeded. And it actually hurt the flag more than it helped it. And if you are going to put fire text on a flag... don't put the RED-ORANGE FIRE on GREEN TEXT. They clash. That's basic color theory.

The blue/green wasn't really tasteful, so they don't get bonus points.

But they do get 5 points for participating.

3rd - Trailmachines: The Fellowship of Right

Good - The actual use of fire. A sword (The Fellowship of Right makes them sound like Knights). The heart like symbol. I may be wrong, but I think that's completely relevant. The flag fits the team name.

Bad - Giant Red text at the top takes away some points. Then they break consistency and put white text down below. That's just an eye sore. The blue skull at the bottom seems out of place, and done entirely so they had some blue on the flag. Also, it looks too clustered and busy. This would have been a lot better without the text and skull at the bottom

As a result, I'm inclined to not give them bonus points for the tasteful portion of the flag. However, I AM going to give them 5 bonus points for weathering the loss of the_casualty well, and not missing a beat with this activity.

As a result they win 15 points.

2nd - The Fighting Mongooses

I'll be perfectly honest. I was debating on this and the winner back and forth for a little bit. Then I eventually relented and decided to focus more on comparing it to the 3rd place flag. In the end, I'm pretty confident this is a 2nd place flag.

Good - The first (and only) tasteful use of Vizzed's Blue and Green (or close enough to blue and green). A recolored Zangoose that fits both the team, and looks incredible on the flag. A simplistic take that doesn't come off as busy. Not sure what the significance of 12 stars is, but it alternates, and it looks good on the flag (despite being a little choppy.)

Bad - I had a hard time finding anything bad about this flag. The only parts I'd mark off are the stars general choppiness. Really a good flag overall.

Since they used green and blue tastefully, they get the bonus points. Also, I give them 5 more bonus points for everyone (except ParagonNova) getting involved and working on the flag.

As a result, they have DEFINITELY earned 30 points. Good showing again for this team.

1st - The Ultimate Vizzards

Good - The lizard is an outside the box take on being a mascot. It's risky, but it really works for this team. Really hit or miss, and I'm impressed. I like how they correctly used text. If you use text it HAS to look fantastic or it looks absolutely terrible. Good work by Team 2 JigSaw. One last good note is that on the whole it's aesthetically pleasing.

Bad - There's nothing bad about this flag. If there is, I can't find it. I'm no Monet by any means, but this is a flat out masterpiece, and better than anyone could have expected. If I try hard, I can knock it for not looking like a flag so much as a poster, but really, I'm not about to penalize them for that. It looks incredible.

No bonus points at all. There wasn't any blue or green (which is good, since if there was blue or green it would have looked tacky.) Also, only JigSaw really worked on this flag. Others made flags, but this was submitted and instantly approved (for obvious reasons)

As a result they have earned 30 points.

Screenshot Challenge - Pokemon

Since Pokemon is the most popular series on site apparently, today is your chance to show your pokemon savvy (?)

Your job is to catch a pokemon in ANY pokemon game on site, and give it a clever nickname (keep it appropriate!)

Here are the rules
1. You must catch the pokemon yourself (I can tell who caught it thanks to user IDs on screenshots)
2. You must use the RGR Plugin and take the screenshot.
3. You must keep the name appropriate
4. EVERYONE ON THE TEAM may make a total of one submission. As a result, the more people that compete the more of a chance you have at winning.
5. The submission MUST be in your team thread, and you must summon me to it. If you wish for convenience (yours AND mine) you may submit the screenshots to a team captain or someone else trusted, and have them summon me at the end of the competition with a post containing ALL the team's submissions (the players must be labled)
6. You will get bonus points if the pokemon is unique from the other submissions. If someone else submits a picture of a Pikachu named Ash, and you submit a picture of a Pikachu named Sparky, your submissions will count, but you will not get bonus points. You will get 1 bonus point for each unique pokemon submitted by your team.

Now for the reward...

I'm going to list TEAM RANKS below... so everyone will know where they stand. Do not take offense to the standing... this is an eye of the beholder competition. You may have loved your submission, and may have had reason for it. But for various reasons, I myself may not like the submission, or not have gotten the joke.

That said, let's begin.

Trailmachines: Fellowship of the Right Rankings
1. Ikachan the Tentacool (MegaRevolution1)


For various reasons... I both liked and disliked this submission. I know it's from CaveStory... but that's not where I know it from. So I kind of gave benefit of the doubt and decided to go with the CaveStory reference. As it stands it WAS the only submission until minutes ago when pokemon x and silverthundr made a submission... I have to hand it to Meg, who kind of gave this team a CHANCE to compete this time around.

2. Nightshade the Bellsprout (silverthundr)


Meh, I'll give credit despite the puush. This wasn't terribly inspiring, but it WAS an effort. It was also 3 minutes late... but I'll accept it because it WAS the fourth of July. At least the name wasn't something lazy like Anonymous...

2. Anonymous the Ghastly (pokemon x)


Err... I'm sorry, but am I wrong in assuming this was a half assed attempt to get SOMETHING submitted by the deadline? I'm sorry if I am indeed wrong, but this was submitted like 20 minutes before the deadline. It IS a ghastly, which makes it a unique pokemon... but is that enough? I do enjoy that you have a ghost that has a ghostly "anon" personality. Meh, at least you competed. unlike the rest of your team.

OK, before the sound alarms get going... I didn't place this first on the team for mentioning my name. I put it first for a few different reasons. Firstly, for not being a basic pokemon game... he used pokemon snap. That's thinking outside the box. Secondly, for the fact his name FIT his pokemon at least somewhat, and wasn't a silly joke that was either horrible, or out of place.

2. Cornholio the Retarded Looking Otter (SamB)


Good - Naming something after a character from Beavis and Butthead. Impish Nature.

Bad - Pretty much everything else. Oshawatt is a terrible pokemon, and it doesn't look anything like Beavis. AKA Cornholio.

All in all, a rather mediocre joke that could have been better with a little more planning.

3. Sky High the Pidgey (Matthew2321) - I'm not sure what it was... but it's your fault for not specifying.)


Ugh... I had a feeling something like this was coming. Yes, Sky High... you know. Like a bird. And the pokemon... is a bird. Ahhh I get it... Too bad it was a pidgey (or looked like one from the box... you never really specified.) and we had three of those. On top of that, the joke wasn't all that good... it was just stating the obvious. Meh.

4. Feather Bust the Pidgey (Eddy88)


Another f***ing pidgey. This pidgey's name didn't even make sense. Pass.

OK, it's ANOTHER pidgey, but I give credit were it's due. Larry Bird was a great basketball player. Larry Birdy fits the team PERFECTLY. And not only that, but it fit the pokemon... which is more important. In the end, there's a reason I place it so high. A really good submission.

2. Lookachu the Pikachu (kabenon007)


PEEK-A-CHU? LOOK-A-CHU? HAHAHA. GEDDIT? That's awesome. It's kind of a lame joke... but I like lame jokes. Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. Fantastic. haha.

3. FlameKid the Charizard (pacman1755)


This was one of three submissions... I picked randomly since you only get one. This one was less than fantastic, but what do you want? I give him props for leveling it up to Charizard... especially since it's level 77... that deserves some respect. The name wasn't the greatest. But effort was pretty good.

4. SandDigger the Sandshrew (mourinhosgum)


So... what's the joke...? It's a Sandshrew and they dig sand? Like a sand digger? So you basically said what it does? Ok? That'd be like me taking a pidgey and naming it Sky High... oh wait...

5. Bikkie the Lotad (crazycatpup)


I'm sorry... what? Seriously. What the hell is a "bikkie"?

1. Leggy the Blitzle (tj4bigred)


Kind of tickles my ego... but that's fine. Because this was done in good taste. I am a zebra. I am bold. And I am most definitely male. A fantastic entry all around... can't really find something I hate about it. Aside from the fact it was only a great ball. I should require a masterball! :|

2. Voltermort the Voltorb (sonicmcmuffin)


As a Harry Potter fan, this was at least kind of funny to me. It gets brownie points for actually being an electric pokemon, on top of being a VOLTorb. Lost points for having a timid nature, although that wasn't major.

3. thing1 the Slowpoke (mlb789)


I was going back and forth on whether or not to allow this... it bordered on insulting. Then I saw it was captured with an ultra ball. That's some respect right there. It also gets credit for having a rash nature. Although I have to say the being female part took some points away. Either way... it was somewhat funny, and not terribly insulting. All in good fun. I'll actually be giving The Ultimate Vizzards some bonus points for being good sports about it.

4. Metapod the Kakuna and Kakuna the Metapod (Galacta and ParagonNova)



I'll count the top one, despite being done with puush, instead of the RGR Plugin... but it wasn't "terribly" funny. Although I will give credit to the fact that in a battle the opponent WILL be confused. JUST IMAGINE. It'll say "Rival is sending out a Kakuna!" Then they'll see it's a Metapod... Too bad they both share the same weaknesses. It's unlikely to really give them much of a heart attack.

5. Thor the Pikachu (TheNameWithNoNumbers)


Thor is the Nordic God of Thunder (I think). So obviously the name fits. But I think it would have been more fitting if it was a Raichu... or a Zapdos (who is the best Thunder pokemon in the game... more fitting for the god of thunder). Either way, it's pretty good.

While it's ego-centric of me, bear with it please, since I know this is one topic we can all be somewhat creative for.

Writing Contest
Topic - The Life of Leggy
Deadline - July 7th
I know, again, ego-centric, but I think this is one we can all have fun with. On top of that, I have a heart of stone, so you can kind of write whatever, and not worry about hurting feelings.

Here ARE the rules of the short story.

1. You must write about my life. It cannot be another person you call Leggy.
2. The story must make a modicum of sense. If I cannot follow it I can't really grade it. (Don't have me in space fighting unicorns one second, and then randomly crying about losing a taco.)
3. You have to use some grammar... again. I need to be able to read it.
4. Everyone on the team can submit one. Since it's a bigger assignment, every person who writes one will net 5 bonus points for their team. Regardless of how good or bad it is. (as long as it isn't 32 words long)

Really, there are few rules about this. Go wild, and have fun. And I'll be checking in with you all real soon. If you want clarifications, again, contact me.

I like that they are short and sweet. It was a half assed attempt, but somehow I think it fits the team perfectly. Their captain is a rock, and the rock is mentioned in the chant. Guitar is cool, so I guess that works in their favor. The only downside is how they actually submitted like literally AT the deadline. Meh. Hopefully they do better next time.

They basically named every member of their team, which is original I guess, although I can't say it's all that tasteful in this case. It was clunky and sounds like one of the only chants I'd actually NOT do. Like literally, this is the only one I facepalmed at the sheer thought of doing. It's uninteresting... but they get bonus points for capturing the essence of their team better than any of the others. Herp derp.

I like how they repeated their team name several times, especially since we have no idea who the hell they are! But no seriously, this wasn't totally bad... until the last forced verse. I was set to give this a pretty average score until I read this ending bit.

Seriously. This is too long. I said I wanted a chant, not a novel. The other teams have time to go get some popcorn, eat it, and get a refill in the time it takes to read it all. Length =/= success. They have some intimidating verses, but in all they are generally lost in the sea of all the other crap. While generally this team makes great things when they put their heads together, this is the first time I've left myself saying "What were they thinking?" I am going to have to read the team thread to see who was responsible for this.

With a rock for a captain, they're team's not that gneiss.
Not so solid, they've come in last TWICE.
I'll take 'em for granite, cause that team's got no spice.

This line is probably the most clever one in the competition, which is a huge break for the Mongooses.

It would be like a MacGuyver type situation. Leggy would make us each a predicament that we're in and give each member of each team some sort of item. Then, we'd have to use everyone's item and write our daring escape, involving every member and item of our team. Points would be deducted if you couldn't figure out how to incorporate someone and their item. It would also ensure team work, which seems to wax and wane as the days go by, haha. Anyway I think the idea would be funner if Legacy made each team it's own scenario and it's own items, but it could also work I s'pose if we were all in the same scenario with different items. It'd take a little creativity on Leggy's part to think of the places we're stuck or what we have to do or whatever, but I think it could be a lot of fun!

It would be have to be clever, have a great slogon, improve quality of life, etc. Then the team would have to "sell" the product to leggy, explaining to him why it's a must-have product. It'd have to be convincing! If Leggy decides he would buy the product based on the price you set, bonus points are given.

Vizzed Camp Triathlon. This of course is an individual event. It will feature 3 events. (well what did you expect!)

This is so that all teams can compete, It's all mainly about pride and trying to prove you are the best. The three competition's would each last a day making this a 3 day activity points will be given from 1-10 for the position you came in. 10 points for first and then the points would decline by one so 10th would get 1 point.

Events
1. Speed event. Using the time trail you have to get to a certain point in a game. This would have to be on a game with no scores so that everyone can just mark their score as 0 and put in the comments what team they are in e.G VC - mongooses. This way all the campers scores will be together.

2. Endurance Event. Try to get as far as possible in a game. This would basically mean that you have a day to get as far as possible in a game. Obviously it's endurance as you could be playing it for 12 hours straight etc. The main games for this would be RPG's. ALSO time trail would be mandatory to stop people loading previous saves. (as a side note this could be made into a post competition I just thought with the TDV being on it would cause so much spam)
3. Creativity Event. The most open event as it can be a lot of different things. Leggy simply says a sentence or a word and you have to base a story on that sentence, you could make a poem about it, or a layout, or a poster, etc.. BASICALLY BE CREATIVE.

I decided to give this one first place simply for the fact it was simple, yet I didn't think of it. It's got to be the easiest thing ever. Find a good game with good music, go to Youtube, find the rip of the music, and then submit it. Simple isn't it?

I like this idea enough I may use it even if it didn't win this contest. It's open ended enough that literally anything could happen, yet there's a little more responsibility on me to find a suiting screenshot. It'll take a little effort on my part, but we'll definitely do this.

Why did I make this place a tie? Because I simply couldn't decide between tj and silver's ideas. tj's would be easier to do, but silver's would have more of a payoff if it could be done. Someone70 : Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

It's a little dark for my liking. But I can appreciate it, as I've played the game myself. When the music plays, it gives you the perfect atmosphere, which is all you can ask for when it comes to video game music. And for that it really ups the chances of scoring high. It's a tad repetitive after a while, after a minute you can kind of tell where the song is going. But all in all, it's a good track for a great game.

nintendoninja64 : Ninja Gaiden

From Act 4-2, if you can last long enough in the game to get to this song, you will truly appreciate it. It's not really perfect, but by standards from back in the day, it's amazing. It's retro, it's classic, it's catchy, and I dig it. Plus, ninjas. They are cool man.

silverthundr : Megaman Battle Network 5 (version doesn't matter)

I love the MMBN series. It has such great music, as is tradition for a Megaman game. However, I have to take a few points off for choosing one of the songs that isn't really what I'd classify in the top 10. There are a multitude of songs he could have chosen that would have scored higher than this... but going on to this one... It's a good song, and truly captures the essence of what VGM should be. This is promising, people have chosen good music to this point.

MegaRevolution1 : Sonic 3 and Knuckles

I appreciate Sonic Music as much as anyone, for the most part it fits the zones, and it's a great atmosphere builder. Doomsday Zone I'd say fits this song perfectly, although I'm not really a fan of the zone or the music in particular... but they are a good match, so it does get points. If you wanted a higher score, you'd give me Green Hill Zone's music. I love Green Hill Zone and it's music. However, this is good enough to be a respectable finish.

The Planned Accident : Megaman Zero 3(?)

I've honestly never played this game, so I'm unsure as to the title. I checked the link, but all I know is it is a remastered track... I wasn't sure whether it actually was in a game or a remix... so I wasn't sure whether to count this. But in the end, it won't matter since I don't really find the song all that great. Keep in mind I've never played the game, so I can't really give it a high score, since I don't know the feel, and am not playing a game to learn about this ONE song.

I actually have to hand it to pokemon x here. He chose a great song from the same game that MegaRevolution1 did. It loses points for not being the original. It's just a 20 minute extended version of the song, but since I know the song they meant to use, I'm going to count it. I'm a little torn as to how to score this, since it's from the same game as Mega's. So lack of originality? I don't really know, I'll knock off points for using the same game after Mega's submission. But I'll give points for this being one of my favorite tracks from Sonic and Knuckles

A Rock : Soul Blazer/Blader

I personally call it Soul Blazer... but whatever. Anyway, this is a game for the SNES if no one has heard of it. It's not a bad game, and I reccommend at least a cursory look into it. Anyway, the song fits the area of the game, which is vital in a competition like this. And it's pretty good quality as well. There's not a whole lot to say about it. Nothing I say would really be relevent to you.

Legend of Zelda has a lot of good music. The forest temple is no exception to this rule. Anyone who has played through LoZ:OoT like I have knows this tune all too well, probably better than any song than isn't Saria's Song, Zelda's Lullaby, or the Water Temple song (because god that's such a long dungeon...) Anywho, I have to give props for the very underrated Forest Temple. All too many people seem to forget about it because of the Fire and Shadow Temples.

More sonic music? I can dig it. As long as it isn't a bad song, it's tolerable. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 doesn't have the amazing soundtrack of most games in the series, but the Ice Cap Zone is probably one of my favorites in the game. The best part of it is how fitting it is. Seriously, if you've never played this game, do it now.

I've actually never played this game, I'm sorry. I just can't appreciate it, since I've never played it. I tried taking a look at some gameplay videos, but I get the sense you can't truly appreciate it unless you play the game yourself. And I'm not playing all the way to zone 5-1 just to feel this one part of the game. Regardless, it's calming, and has a soothing effect on my attitude. So I guess I'll be lax.

Matthew2321 : Star Fox

Corneria... from the SNES days. It's not as fun as N64's edition, and the sound in the 64 edition was better in my opinion, but this isn't a bad choice either. There are a few minor qualms with the choppiness of the sound. High pitched beeps and pulses followed by low guitar riffs that sound like they were played on a broken guitar make me less enthused about replaying this game to feel it out... But it does get credit for being a memorable tune.

ProGamer135 : Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars

I feel bad for saying this, since it's ProGamer, but he genuinely picked a great music track. I loved Legend of the 7 Stars. There was so much right about the game. I just couldn't forgive myself if I gave this a low score. This is one game that if you haven't played, you need to. It's easy enough, so almost anyone can get through it without problems, and it's not long, so you have no excuse not to play this.

SamB : Donkey Kong 64

I really wanted someone to do this I'm glad someone did. Anyone who has played DK64 knows the DK Rap. I learned all the lyrics to it at a young age, and would often turn on the game just to hear the song... ok I was a little kid, happy? It's a pretty good start when you first boot up the cartridge. Introduces you to all the main kongs and teaches you what types of things they can do. And it's got a bit of appropriate humor suitable for babies to hear.

Bowser's Castle. As a kid no track gave me more problems. Not even Rainbow Road. The tune inspires a feeling of dread, and it's truer for me than anyone else I can think of. It's a very fitting track, and a very fitting choice.

ParagonNova : Duck Tales

Wow. Color me shocked. I didn't expect ParagonNova to be into DuckTales... but hey, that's what I get for assuming crap. It's a good game, and I enjoy it, so I was pleasantly surprised to see this game make it onto a submission. The Moon was also my favorite level.

I rather liked Super Mario 64's music, even if I wasn't a huge fan of the game itself. The fact it's from the End Credits only amplifies how meaningful the song is to the game as a whole. I've always said the three most important tracks in a game are the opening music, the final boss music, and the ending credits.

Somehow I expected this the moment I opened this contest. I haven't had the chance to play Chrono Trigger a ton yet, and I don't know who this Robo is, but my guess is he's a robot. If he is, I feel like this song explains his nature perfectly. If he isn't... then he has a very misleading name, which is cool in it's own right. A very good song.

Really this is a solid entry, despite the lack of a picture. The submission is also a little bit jokey, as Meg herself even points out that it's a "hint" to her team. All in all, a real treat, and something I wish existed.

Like - It's basically a teleporter, and I'd totally want one.
Dislike - It's instant. Half the fun of traveling is the journey.

Really, another solid idea, although it felt rushed and half assed. No picture, but it didn't really "need" one. I kind of have an idea of how it'd work.

Dislike - It looks like it'll kill me

It gets bonus points for actually having a picture... and it gets more since I'm a WWE fan, and I recognize all the people on the "ad". Really a funny ad that is clever and ingenious.

dazzsheil's "Conspiracy"

Like - Very little. I feel like something like this exists already even though I know it doesn't.
Dislike - Not really original. Glasses involved.

This was probably my least favorite entry. Very uninspired. I have nothing more to say about it.

Eddy88's "Multiple Use Clock"

Like - Sega Genesis.
Dislike - Too much crap. Feels like you just threw a bunch of things together in hopes I'd be amazed by the sheer amount of things

I'm really not into "multi use" appliances. Feels like a hash job in a vain attempt to get me to buy only one thing I want. I don't think I'd buy this, simply because there's too much and it'd probably end up being cheaper to get the individual parts cheaper.

Stevie 764's "The Super Mega All Game System Usuable Gun"

Like - Has an actual use that people would want.
Dislike - The name is way too clunky.

It's not a bad idea, but it could have been a lot better with a picture of even just a regular gun. That and a lack of real pizzaz made this kind of dull, although still a good idea.

NovemberJoy's "VR Gamer"

Like - I'd totally be interested in looking into it.
Dislike - The price tag however, I am not interested in.

In all seriousness, it's pretty nice, although there's a little bit of a worry. It says you can store the data on discs or cartridges... the problem with that is, what type of Disc? Not even Blu-ray would be able to contain the data right? Cartridges are so out dated I'd be surprised if you could get even a virtual box to appear using it.

jlh's "Treadmill Incentive Package"

Like - Treadmills are good for running
Dislike - It looks a little flimsy. I'd be afraid to step on it.

It's another good idea that good have been better with more practice. And it may be just me, but didn't jlh use the Mario Paint thing for a contest a few weeks ago? One trick ponies are no fun man

This is a great idea plagued by confusion. It was very wordy, which is helpful in describing the product, but that also means there are more words to confuse the reader. It got to the point quickly enough however that it's not a huge deal.

Like - When can I get mine?
Dislike - I don't have it yet.

This is a great idea... but illegal, so I can't condone it. So boooooo. (But still, hook me up)

rcarter2's "Life's Save State"

Like - I could use it sometimes
Dislike - What's life without a little failure? Just like save states make games less enjoyable, they'd make life less enjoyable.

It's a very idealistic choice, and I'm sure there'd be billions who'd want this. So it's good in a profit wise venture. But on that note... like I said above, it takes the life out of life. What's the point of living if you are going to get every desired result?

A Rock : Well... this is something?

A Rock basically did something most rocks can't. Use the internet. This is pretty lame, since I know who A Rock is, and I'm turned off by the lack of effort. This being their only submission will KILL them for the competiton, almost cememnting them in last place.

thing1 : Something about Guitar Hero.

Basically, it's Guitar Hero: World Tour. A game where you play guitar, drums, bass... whatever. Point is he got 100% on a song. It's only on medium (read the description) but I guess it's an achievement to him. Unfortunately, it's pretty simple honestly, so I'll only be giving this a basic grade.

Seishiro Leonhart : An obscure game, but not an obscure score

Played the game once, wasn't a huge fan. Either way, it's at least harder than GH, so there's that. If you really feel tempted to play it, go for it, but I won't be held liable for boring you to tears. Anyway, made it to Round 56, but was up to Round 49 before he lost his first life. That means he lost 3 lives in the next 7 rounds. So yeah.

Eddy88 : Dhalsim is slow.

If I'm understanding right, he beat one of the Street Fighters with a slow character. If you want an idea of the difficulty, but have only played Super Smash Brothers, think of it as beating the game with Bowser or Donkey Kong. Slower, but more powerful. Either way, this isn't huge.

This was why I did this competition. Because some people actually do pretty cool things that they may not talk about otherwise. For those not in the know, the exams he's talking about aren't easy and they are standard teaching exams (I think that's as basic as I can get it to sounding) for biology. Basically a pretty big deal.

Admittedly, I don't think this is all too impressive, as I've done this before (with Nick Punto against CC Sabathia on Legend mode no less) and am pretty damn good at these games. Regardless though, it's a lot more impressive than some of the things submitted.

Galacta : OMG PERFORMANCE POINTS

It's basically osu!'s measure of determining "true player skill", but it's still kind of beta and wonky. Especially once you get to the players who aren't wicked good or wicked bad. For example, I know I'm better at it than MegaRevolution1, yet last I checked, she had a higher PP than me, which is kind of part of my gripe with the system. It's only right with like the top 2000 and the bottom 2000 it seems. Either way, 4,000 PP is pretty cool I guess.

And guess what? You didn't. You blew it. They have pretty much won at this point. And I kind of don't think a final competition is needed, but I'm doing it anyway. I've had it planned since I began and I am NOT backing down from it now.

THE FINAL COMPETITION

There is little I can say. Just know it's the most gruelling competition ever.

It'll be split into mini subcompetitions. And you have until the 26th to complete all these challenges. Yeah. Camp is over on the 26th.

So here's what it is. The first subcompetition (no points for this one).

There will be 5 random competitions I'm going to pick out of a hat that haven't been done yet. That means each team needs to choose 5 people to do them.

You won't be told what the competition is until you have chosen your lineup for the 5 days. The points spread will be equal for each sub competition.

1st - 50 points
2nd - 35 points
3rd - 25 points
4th - 10 points


On top of this, once all 5 subcompetitions are done, the winners of each subcompetition will go on to the final mega challenge. Yes, that means an entire team could be in the final mega challenge. It also means you could do NOTHING in the final mega challenge.

I will not release details on the mega challenge, but I will tell you what TYPES of competitions will be in the 5 subcompetitions.

1 will be an art contest
2 will be high score competitions
2 will be screenshot competitions

Yes, this means using the RGR for 4/5 of the competitions. Since this is a Vizzed, which is this size largely because of the RGR, we will pay homage to it in this final competition.
