My brother had a friend who died on Saturday. They were incredibly close. He found out on Sunday and his emotions took over almost non-stop until last night.

She had cancer. She beat it. It came back in January. She couldn't beat it again. That's the compressed version of what happened. This is the obituary-

The point of this thread is simply to ask people to pray for her and her family. Vizzed means a lot to me and my brother means everything to me, so I thought this might be appropriate. He registered here as Sgt. Dexter Grif, but never became very active.

We were kinda different growing up and didn't really spend any extra time with each other. After we started going to the same college, we started hanging out together more and became really close.

They only went on one date, but they were both way too busy to have a real relationship, so they just stayed as best friends.

Thank you all for everything you all have done. I sang at her funeral mass today, and it was one of the saddest but also most beautiful funerals I have ever attended. There was not a seat in the church unfilled and not a dry eye either. Singing for her was one of the greatest honors I have ever had, she was an extremely close fried who I loved and cherished. All I need now is time to heal. I've been struggling to have a day without breaking down yet but she had too big an impact on my life for that to happen. Please pray for her safe travel to god and for her family who loved her and everything she lived for.

Let your brother know that I too share my condolences. I only have one piece of information for you; let him grieve as much as he will. There is no point in trying to force him to stop being upset, but don't let him pull completely away. Give him space but keep the distance close. I am not the most religious but I still hope that everyone can find comfort in some way or another.
