I am looking after a neighbours cat, but I know the cat already, he is 10 years old, neutered and has always been insecure and angry.

I tried felloway spray, but it never worked and all I can think of is drugs to calm him from biting and scratching.

He is a house cat as he is unable to go outside due to eating elastic and nearly dieing in the process.

what do you suggest?

Angry cats suck... there really isn't much one can do. At least not that I know of.

You may want to try catnip. Apparently it makes cats crazy happy.

If that fails, just give the cat some space, and come back to it later.

I don't know of anything. I know that cats can be both aggressive and hard to cope with, especially when angry. On top of that, I have no experience with cats whatsoever so I don't know what to say other  than attempt to fee it it's favorite food.

My kitten Misty was always untrusting of me at first. Then when I made my tuna noodles I would give her heaps of tuna. Now she's warmed up to me so much I can give her a bath every week! She curls up in my arms and lets me do anything to her.

Food always gets a cat to love you. Also constantly try petting the cat after a while they will get used to it. We brought in a stray cat Fred who didn't know how to accept being petted. At first he would hiss and run, then he would allow it but start throwing up from the purring sensation, now he loves it.

Well with my cat when it's mad you can't go any where near it without it attacking you, so I would say just leaving it alone for a little while then try to coax it back into a good mood with treats.
