So just now, I heard some lady crying and screaming "Let go of me!! I can't!!" and some dude was yelling "SHUT UP and GET UP STAIRS!! You broke my glasses!! I hate you!!". I'm sittin here thinking that she's getting raped/abused so I wake my parents (it was 1am) and they call the police. They go upstairs and they happen to live in my part of the building so we can hear everything. When the cops get there- it turns out she was drunk as heck and all he was trying to do was get her home. The cops were talking to them and she's all "We durnt have tatoooos heha I just got my harr colored SEEee now I have dark brown haaaaiir" and the cops are like "We don't care, are you okay?" and the guy was like "She needs to stop being drunk..."

So, my question to you is: Have you ever heard/witnessed some ~suspicious~ activity in your neighborhood (or anywhere I guess) and had to call the cops?

Haha, the poor guy. Just trying to help her out and she causes a massive scene.
Drunk people fliping out is nothing new, nor the police being called, i pity the police, those are some of the crapiest call outs they get.

Wow....Drunkies. I expected more from the cops.
I had too much drama back in L.A with car crashes, robberies, and Vandalism. Rough neighborhood to live in (even though it was considered a "great place to raise kids") I didn't call the cops due to the fact I was 1-13 years of age living there. What to do when young :p

I have heard a lot of screaming and arguing from people in the neighborhood, but you can hear so clearly that you pretty much know what is going on. So I have never had to call the cops out of a sense of danger for anyone in the arguments. I hope that I never have to.

I've never really heard/ seen anything like that. The only time of something suspicious was when I saw this 3 year old kid walking with this super tall dude and he was like yelling for no reason. I walked home and acted like I never saw anything.

Wow, I would seriously be worried about living near someone like that. I would hate to risk not receiving help when needed if the people in the building / the cops were used to false calls in a boy-who-cried-wolf sort of scenario.

Of course, that cannot really be helped in some cases. I personally have only called the cops on account of car wrecks in which I was involved in order for the area to be cleared off before more people join the wreckage.

No suspicious activity as of yet, hopefully just a sign that my neighborhood is a little on the safe side... I do live a ways off from the city, so that might account for some of it.

Right now, I live in what I call the "safe" part of the neighborhood. A few years ago, I used to live on the "bad" side, and I used to live on the first floor of an apartment building. There happened to live a black family or couple upstairs, and all of a sudden, I hear that the guy was abusing his partner. Sometimes I would hear then have sex .__. But, other than that, I would also hear loud music. Now that I moved to this "safer" part of the neighborhood last year, a few moths ago, I heard in the house next door the husband screaming at her wife. I was outside during that time since I forgot my car key inside the car >.< But, that was the very last time I heard them screaming. Everything now is non dramatic anymore.

There's always suspicious activity in the area I live. It's actually not that bad anymore. Most of the neighbourhood is comprised of young families and elderly people, but our old neighbours were awful. Drug dealing, gang members. Within two weeks of moving into our house there was a drive by shooting next door. I myself called the cops on them a handful of times. But they're gone now and there is a noticeable difference in the area.
That's not to say things don't still happen. Just not as frequently. About two weeks ago someone was stabbed in the eye two door's down...

Whenever I hear neighbors screaming I can hear it and it sometimes get serious to the point where a fight breaks out. I never have to call the police because someone else always does. The police always comes quick since a police station is about 6 blocks away.

I actually live in a pretty good neighborhood. Occasionally you might hear gun fire but that's only because sometimes we get huge snakes and the cops come out the get rid of them. But so far nothing too dangerous. Yeah no place is crime free but we get that like maybe one every 4 years or something.

Heh... My family got wrapped up in an issue that occurred next door. Basically, what it wound down to was my next door neighbor shot his wife through the head. Instant death. Here's the actual news report:

http://www.annistonstar.com/view/full_story/13340556/article-Anniston-police-investigating-homicide-on-Moore-Avenue--midnight-update-

I will state that the news report is not accurate. For starters, there was closer to 40 dogs. (The family was hoarders and we were well aware of this and kept calling the city out to take care of it.) None of the dogs bite, nor were any of the police officers bitten. Some of the dogs were barking, yes, but what do you expect? The dogs were unable to be contained within the house because they had literally chewed the bottom half of the door to bits from never being allowed outside.

Preston (the guy) claimed that it was an accident - that he was cleaning the gun. I think it was temporary insanity type thing. (Old couple, and they obviously had mental issues) Geri was dead on impact. If I remember correctly, it was a 457 Magnum, Double Barrel gun.

Regardless, Preston called 911 himself. He was terrified and confused and asking for help from my family. The police questioned all of us; the entire ordeal took nearly six hours to clean up. The house is now boarded up and being completely unused.

One of my neighbour who had a car accident and broke their spine so they can not walk any more, decided that 1 in the morning was a good time to drink two bottles of vodka and start singing non stop for five hours everyday for two weeks. At first we felt sorry for them but after the first week we were deprived of sleep and we could take no more so we phoned the police. At first they thought we were joking and ignored us after phoning them everyday every day for five days they finally came out and looked and they could not believe what they were seeing. He was given an asbo and an electronic tag by the courts and told if he goes out after midnight he will be sent to prison for a few weeks to a few months. Sounds hard to believe but it is completely true

I have some stories for you.  O.o
Seriously.

Okay, so about two or three years ago, my husband and I lived in this really bad house where nothing worked.  To make matters worse, the people who lived in a house across the alley from us would wake us up all hours of the night screaming and yelling like banshees.  This took place EVERY night around midnight and usually ending around 3 or 4 am. We called the cops several times, and apparently so did our neighbors.  However, despite the police only being a few blocks away, they'd always take like 30 minutes to get there!!!

Well, we began to get curious in our frustrations, and so we would sometimes get up and peek out the window.  Every time, there were always like a dozen people in the basement apartment of the house!!!  During all times of the day, their windows were blocked with curtains so efficiently that seeing anything through them was impossible.  And at night, they were ALWAYS fighting and being hateful!

One time, they were stumbling around in the alley and in their doorway, yelling and screaming at each other about... something.  One girl threatened to run over one of the boys, saying he had slept with someone else and "How dare you sleep with that BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP?!?!?"  She actually GOT IN HER CAR and tried to run him over while the others stood and added their own yells into the mixture.

Another time, they were all fighting in the door way, and some of them drove off in their cars. One girl was just sort of stumbling around the alleyway, mad about something or the other.  Well, two people drove up in a car, got out, and proceeded to drag her into the car!!!!!!  She was fighting them and screaming at them, but they dragged her in and drove her off!!!  Our little fingers had been dialing the police like crazy of course!  When the police arrived and went to talk to those people, we listened from in our bedroom.  The police simply knocked on the door, acted like they didn't care and just said "Is everything alright?"  One of the people answered and was all "Oh yes sir, one of us was just drunk and being loud."  The policemen just said "Oh okay. Well have a safe night."  AND THEY DROVE AWAY!!! I was like, are you freaking kidding me?!?!?

The last thing I can remember was when they were fighting YET AGAIN, and one of them upstairs started waving a gun around, threatening to shoot someone.

Yeah, it was CRAZY.

Anyhow, I guess the police got annoyed of this after a month or so, and they FINALLY contacted the land lady.  The land lady evicted them and they found a meth lab in the apartment.  The land lady renovated the place and cleaned it out.

I now live in that apartment.

unknown0s : Yes there have been a few times unfortunately where I have heard arguments between neighbors and or doors slamming and such. It’s not a pleasant thing but I personally have never called the police or anything. I basically just try to keep to myself for the most part but if there was something like that going on I would probably have a similar reaction and response. It is wise though to really be sure that you need to call someone before you do it. You never want to jump the gun on things like that especially if it’s of a private nature and doesn’t really concern you.
