Well, at my favorite skating rink, they play disco quite often. For parties I attend and for my own enjoyment I actually very rarely listen to disco.

So I do think it might be dead in the eyes of the modern generation in the personal initiative in choosing a song, but it still lingers.

I hate disco and imo disco is just plain awful but I will say this, the song born to be alive is too hilarious for life and it wouldn't have existed without disco so I appreciate it I guess..

Disco itself isn't dead. Rinks play disco music rather frequently, as do some bars and other public gathering locations. Personally, I still listen to some disco, but not much. Eventually, however, I do believe that it will die because it will be forgotten in the upcoming generations.
