Oh my gosh, the first time I heard this theme was in Hydrocity Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. At first I really didn't know why the music changed or the numbers that showed up by Sonic until I saw sonic drown, which kinda made me upset.

My laptop is currently on safe mode, therefore I have no audio so I can't hear the audio from your link. I do remember the heart racing music and the sound of Sonics last breath before drowning. Back then, I didn't care...now, I think it's kinda funny.

Markeith21 : Same happened to me, but in Angel Island... On a "U" shaped pit with water... The Sonic games I had were on a CD with multiple Genesis/Megadrive games... Sonic 2 didn't seem to work... So, after playing the 1st. One I played the 3rd. Didn't knew about the Spin Dash... Saw the numbers and heard the music... And. Well, the rest is story.

The music for the underwater levels for Sonic always get's people. You really do start to feel panic when you start running out of air. The game's sound designers did a very nice job.

Ha ha, Me personally i actually enjoy the music., I may even get a bit bored and let sonic headbang to his own death. But i guess i am slightly mental like that.

The music itself didn't bother me much because Chemical plant you can basically avoid all the water nearly. And aquatic zone you can just stay on the route. Hydrocity you seem to spend 2/3 of the level above ground. 

But meh i play sonic too much xD

sonicmcmuffin : Ha, I kind of enjoy it too... As you I don't worry much of the CPZ water... It's easily avoidable... Hydocity is a piece of cake. Only thing I do is run faster. Also, I ever have a water shield for that level.

I actually love hearing that music in Sonic Adventure / Sonic Adventure
DX Directors Cut . Every time I hear it when I drown Sonic on purpose
