Sonic games are full of mostly different special stages you need to get through to get the Chaos Emeralds (usually). So what game do you think has the best special stages.

For me, it's close between Sonic Heroes and Sonic 1's special stages, but I say Heroes. Epic music + trippy background and overall look + speed = awesomness.

Sonic Heroes' special stages were very fun, IMO, especially depending on who you play as (Which team) Nya~. The music was pretty good, and the background was always awesome, especially on the last 2-3 rounds. It was basically all around awesome and fun, which is quite good, when you consider how difficult it was trying to keep the keys for the special stages, Nya~

(unless you used Team Rose, which didn't really make it difficult at all)

I'd say Sonic Generations for the 3DS, just perfect, awesome music, nice controls, not too easy (they are easy, but not too easy), and you get to boost. That's enough for me to love it.

Sonic 3/knuckles were okay but I found that they got boring after a while and most of them were insanely easy once you got used to the slight speed increase!

I've always had a fondness for the Sonic 2 halfpipes... they're like the only special stages I can actually do. I never get all the emeralds in any other game (well that's not entirely true... I did fine in Sonic Advance 1 and 2's special stages). Most games, I can't even beat a single special stage or maybe I beat the first 2 and then can't go any further.

The Sonic the hedgehog 2 special stages, that I have only gotten 2 chaos emeralds ever, seems the best. I also like the Sonic 3 and Knuckles stages, I have only gotten all 7 super emeralds on knuckles, it is the most easiest for me, even if I rage quit and get pissed quite often from it, but it gets easy and every time I hit a star ball (I summon great shinron! Grant me 1 wish! (the worlds most comfortable underwear!!!) ) and I like the Sonic the hedgehog stages except the back round (MY EYES!!!). So in summary I like the Genesis special stages
