I decided to make a poll for this. I put the most obvious choices, if I missed any (which I bet I did) sorry. Also, Mega Man was made by Capcom, so that's why he isn't here.

I've gotta go with Super Mario. It's a classic. Zelda and Pokemon were incredible too, but no one series has consistently put out games that I absolutely love like Mario. Pokemon's been going downhill lately but still had some of the best games ever, and Zelda is a phenomenal series as well, but I'm sticking with Mario.

I wish Metroid was here...

Metroid. It has a nice, dark, and lonely feel to it. I normally am not a Nintendo fan, but as I grow older, Metroid simply is impossible for me to hate. It could easily be called a survival horror game series to some extent, and I love me some survival horror.

The earlier games are practically genius. You didn't get a game series like this until maybe the Alone in the Dark PC games(not the crappy Dreamcast one or the maybe good new ones) and the Clocktower series that only really caught on in Japan. These were games you ran around alone hoping you'd survive. What sounds even more horrifying? Space and stuff.

The Metroids are actually pretty scary when you think about it. They latch onto your head, and probably feed on your energy. They are leeches that hunger for energy. The Space Pirates are planet destroying maniacs who are from what I read in the manga, a species that is more like a hivemind type of species. Alone with little jellyfish Cthulhu spawns and hivemind space pirates? That is pretty good for good scares.

Luigi's Mansion may be the most obvious Nintendo made survival horror game, but Metroid is an unintentional example of the genre. The Metroid Prime games make the mood even more evident. For someone who normally has trouble enjoying Nintendo games, the Metroid series was a creation that feels almost like it was for those who prefer horror.

Just to clarify one thing, though, Metroid actually didn't have the first female hero at all. That award goes to Phantasy Star 1, which is a highly recommendable RPG series that started out on the Master System. Metroid had a very strong female lead that gets odd interpretations, though.

Samus has maternal instinct. She is a loner, probably. She is not an emotionless statue. Other M was badly executed, yes, but a destruction of character? No. That game was based on the manga that had Samus reacting to Ridley in a similar way, too. 
 

I voted for Zelda, but I'm glad Metroid wasn't here because I wouldn't have known what to choose.  Super Metroid was really one of my favorite games ever.

Bomberman is a Nintendo character now?




I'd pick Metroid as my first favourite, for an uncountable amount of reasons.


I'd have to say my second favourite would be Star Fox.... Though I've only played the first, second and 64 variants.

Good old Pokémon.

Since I missed having a majority of Nintendo's gaming platforms like SNES , N64, and the game cube, Pokémon was really the only one I always had by my side. I have a game from every generation, and I enjoyed them all. Some more than others, but still. Plus the ranger games were pretty good. By that I mean addictive as anything.

I absolutely cannot decide between Pokemon an Zelda. They are both a great series. Although, I have peen playing Pokemon since 2008, and Zelda since 2010... Nah, still can't decide

I voted for Pokemon, since it's been a more impactful part on my childhood. I mean, Mario, Legend of Zelda, etc. have all been great series, but I've loved Pokemon from the start and I'm continuing to love it.

I would have to vote on Zelda just because of OoT. I loved that game and was addicted to it the first day I got it. I've been playing it ever since... HELP ME I CAN'T STOP PLAYING IT!  [gets slapped]  Oh, God! Finally free!

I'd have to say The Legend of Zelda is my favorite.  Ocarina of Time is my favorite game of the series.  I actually found my N64 a few months ago and played OoT for a few days.  Fun times .

So many to choose from =P but if I had to choose a favorite it would have to be Super Mario Bros. I've been playing Super Mario Bros since I first got my SNES so yeah I would have to go with Super Mario Bros... Pokemon and the Legend of Zelda both come in as my close 2nd and 3rd favorite though

Hm...I think I like the Pokémon Series best. I used to love them when I was a child, and I still do. They're part of my childhood.
But I've always liked the Super Marion Series, too, I mean, they were the first games I ever played (when I was about four years old or something like that).
But I chose the Pokémon Series.

Well I like Super Smash Bros. and Star Fox the best. They just are really addicting and just plain fun! But voted for Pokemon because I beat pretty much every game.

The super mario series is what I grew up with, and I still enjoy the games today. Even though I love all of the series of Nintendo, but my vote goes with Mario
