Hi everyone!  I'm pretty new to the website (started up a couple of days ago), and I must say, this website is amazing.  My only gripe, however, is that the save feature and load feature are very close together.  Today, I was trying to load Fire Emblem, and to my dismay, I pressed F2 instead of F4.  To those of who do not know, F2 saves the current state the game is in, while F4 loads the game at the previous saved state.  Unfortunately, as a result of my mistake, I lost all progress (about 6 hours of time).  

In order to lower the chance of such mistakes occurring again, I would like to know if it were at all possible for saving and loading states through a mouse click rather than through buttons that are very close together.  Thank you all for your time, and please let me know your opinion on the subject.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is just deal with it. It's better than them being right next to each other. Honestly, I like it. Sure, you make mistakes sometimes, but that's okay. I don't think you should be complaining about it.

Sorry to hear that, unfortunately that has happened to me quite a few times in the past as well. Unless David changes the save and load state buttons for all consoles, the best thing to do is pay close attention each time you play a game.

To my knowledge there isn't a way to alter the save and load state buttons...perhaps I'm wrong.

Wow that sucks! That happened to me too. I think it's a matter of getting the keys mixed up rather than the fact that they are right next to each other. I mean, even if it was the tab button to load and enter to save, im sure people will still get them mixed up

I wish, but I think those keys are mapped to the emulator itself and the only way to change them would be to do it manually, I think. At least, right now, there's no way of doing it yourself. You'd have to ask David, like everyone else says.

But don't worry, I've done the same before when I was pretty far, and it was no fun.

The thing is, David hires developers/designers to set up the plugin, and I think that they would be the ones to be able to change that. However, he has to pay quite a bit of money every time there is a new update to the plugin. This could be proposed as a future development, but I honestly thing it would take a backseat to some of the other future features for the plugin such as being able to record videos and the highly anticipated Net Play features. It used to happen to me, but you eventually get used to it that it won't be an issue eventually.
