Before you read ANY further. I want you to read the requirements. I will explain why we have each of the requirements below. It's POSSIBLE we could overlook one requirement if we really like your app, but if you don't meet one of the requirements, don't be surprised if you aren't picked.

-100+ posts a month
-Log on at least 3 days a week on average
-100 Staff Points

Why do we require our locals at 14+?

It's simply a matter of maturity. We've had 13 year old mods who have worked out though... so if you are 13, it's not the end of the world. Some people are much more mature than their age indicates.

Why do we require 100+ posts a month?

This is just a matter of activity. We need to know we can count on you to be active at all times. As the local moderator manager, I watch this and staff points closely. If you miss quota you and I get to have a talk.

Why do we require 3 days a week of activity?

Again, it's simply a matter of activity. We need to know we can count on you being active as a moderator.

What are Staff Points and why do we need 100?

Staff Points let me know who is doing their job around the site. Every moderator action you do, whether it's closing, trashing or moving threads, I find out about. It's just a way of measuring how much work a person does on site. As for why 100? 100 is just a fair number and it's easy to remember

Just so everyone knows, I take the last question fairly seriously. That section is basically your opportunity to explain why you will be good as a moderator. Take advantage of that. If a member who has a less than perfect track record writes a really good explanation, I will be more open to giving them a chance. If a great member blatantly puts in very little effort, I probably won't consider them.

Also make sure you write the right amount. If you can write a good summary in two or three sentences, that's good. If you'd rather write a paragraph or two, that's also good. Either one works as long as you get your point across. More than two paragraphs would be a bit too much, so don't overdo it.

This doesn't mean you have to be a perfect writer. Just put some effort into it.

As for me, I don't really vote in favor of huge applications with excellent grammar etc. To me a brief application, that focuses on the main topic of each question, is more than enough.  In other words, I don't appreciate quantity, but I like quality. And one more thing, I want you to be yourself and make an application that will present us the real you!

Sorry to kind of hijack your thread, but weren't the official age requirements lowered? Locals to 13 and globals to 16? That's what I heard at least.

Please, please, PLEASE, do not go around the forums and backseat mod just to get attention. Backseat modding is like going into people's threads and posting THIS IS SPAM without actually contributing to the conversation. This is not the right way to get yourself noticed. The best thing to do is do what you've always been doing, maybe be a bit more active by posting more.

I know that probably wasn't your intention, but I just wanted this point to get across so no one does it. ;3

Just so you know, regular users shouldn't "do some practice moderation." The only non-staff members who we sometimes tolerate doing that are the Elites. Anyone else who does what we call 'backseat modding' can get in trouble for doing so.

As Someone70 said, since posting is a requirement try to do a lot of good quality posting. That's the most you can do to prove you'd be a good moderator right now.
