My favorite Dragon Ball Z game is Budokai 3, because it has my favorite combat in the series as well as a free flying and leveling in story mode, the newer ones may have more characters and better graphics, However in my opinion Budokai 3 is the best quality game.

I'm torn between the awesomeness that is Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (PS2) and Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors (GBC). Both are really good but its a night and day difference.

When it comes to Dragon Ball Z, I have a LOT of the games in the franchise, so it's really hard for me to choose, but do to the gameplay, and the pure amount of characters and how good it covers the story, I'm going with what everyone else is saying, and choose Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

I have played through most of the PS2 and DS Dragon Ball Z games and I can say that Budokai 3 is generally the best Dragon Ball Z game if you think about the game itself and how it really is how a fighting game should be like, but I do prefer Budokai 2 because of its overall wackiness and then I put Tenkaichi 2 in third because I really enjoyed it. I can't say I liked Tenkaichi 3 that much, it's been a few years since I played my DBZ games, but yeah, I didn't really like it that much back then. Most of the Dragon Ball games are really fun though, but I wish they would release another game that followed the story perfectly like Budokai 1.. Or maybe they have and I might not be aware of it, but I digress.

XD Budokai 3 was good too, but still unknown to me (since I don't have the game, had rented it for a day) I remember having gone though story mode, but it ended after the Cell Saga, so I don't know if it continued on or did I miss something there? XD
