I prefer DragonBall Z, because it just seems more original. Also, there are significant differences between the two, making DragonBall Kai much more kid friendly. And even some unnecessary changes, like taking out Bardock's scar.

I always watched Dragonball Z. I found out that my little brother has gotten into it, but called it Dragonball Z Kai. I just figured it was just what the network that he was watching it on called it. Can someone give me specific examples of how it is different?

I don't think it's a question of one being better than the other as opposed to one being for a different audience. The original is, of course, the one I grew up on, and it had its ups and downs. Ups: uncut, original anime material. Downs: powering up. Every time someone has to fight someone, they both have to power up twice, reveal that they have a stronger form, and then talk about their strength for twelve episodes before anyone actually does any fighting.

DBZ Kai however skims down much of the "filler" as it is called, getting to the action without all the downs mentioned above. I haven't followed it much myself, but that is what my anime certified friends have told me. Besides, Dragonball Z Abridged is where it is really at anyway.

Changing the voice actors and other small things about Kai were annoying but bearable.  However, when they turned Mr. Popo blue that crossed a line you just can't expect me to be okay with.

So in my opinion Dragonball Z Kai needs to be killed with fire.

Basically the whole blue Mr.Popo isnt in the Nick Version he is in the 4Kids Version As for the Voices......They messed up Nappas the entire Namek Saga.....and the lack of Buu is Criminal but they made Everything a bit better

I am just going to go on a limb and say Dragon Ball Z is better than Kai. I think that I am going to save my little brother from voice changing, scene cutting, episode deleting, Popo color turning abomination of a great show by buying him the complete DBZ series on DVD for Christmas. Can't have his mind on DBZ corrupted any further.
