This may be confusing for a few people, as not everyone is aware...

but for the past year now, I've been sleeping on the floor in the living room of my grandmothers house.

Today, we went out and got me a full size bed.

This is the first time I've ever had a "new" bed, and the first time in over a year that I'll be able to sleep in one.

Excuse me, but I am pretty excited to get a good nights sleep

I've been sleeping on floor for over 10 years now Nothing is more comfortable then a rock hard floor, maybe its just me but I find furniture useless. What sucks is if you have to move that is a big bed you gotta lug around. But enjoy the new bed!

The few nights I had to try to sleep on a floor because my furniture hadn't been delivered yet (I was issued a fully furnished apartment for a month as a relocation benefit by my new employer at the time, but that ran out the day before I managed to get the movers to deliver to my new place) were absolutely miserable. Dunno how you could stand it. I'm glad you have proper bedding!

I was shocked when you told me about this.... I couldn't believe you didn't have a bed of some sort.... that just seems so foreign to me.

But, I can't say that I've ever considered myself truly poor. I've always managed to cover my basic needs. Even if I was covering them rather poorly.... I always had the things I needed. Glad you have a bed now though. Beds are good

I have a matress that I take off the framing of my bed and put it down on the floor to sleep on.  My dad got a new framing for my bed last year after my surgery but the beams were made out of very thin wood.  So thin a 3 year old was able to snap them in half with two fingers....  My parents are too cheap to actually buy me a new bed now.  Especially since there are no longer any vissiting nurses to keep track of my health...  So ya been on the floor for almost a year now myself at least I have the matress but it's a pain to put down then pick up every night...  And with my illness it really is a pain lol!  Legacy you are a lucky man to get a good bed to sleep in.  One day I will too enjoy a good night sleep on a real bed!
