We all know this thread had to pop up sometime. I'm actually a little surprised it has already been made. Does nobody around here play the CoD series much? Got mine on preoder, but I'm not picking it up at the midnight release- not when I have to get up at 6 in the morning. I do have a 4-day weekend coming up for Veteran's Day so along with going out and getting free food from restaurants for being in the Army I have 4 days to chill and play the game. Online first, probably. Today was my last day (I would think) for playing Black Ops online. Finished with me getting the final killcam. Nice way to go.

I won't be getting CoD.

At this point Battlefield is head and shoulders above it and it actually improves with each iteration. The campaign is interesting, the game is of better quality...

Sorry, I'll pass on Call of Duty- Same Old Crap 3.

Although I also dislike FPS in general. I'd rather play a sports game or an RPG.

i got the chance to play battlefield this past weekend. the graphics are way better than any Activision has ever put out. but as far as the multiplayer goes, COD takes the cake. yes, Battlefield has vehicles and whatnot, but they are only available in certain game types. and there is no fun in spawning into a huge map only to be sniped 10 seconds later by some dude laying prone in between some rocks. the vids of MW3 look impressive as they are trying to make the gameplay more gun to gun based but also more team oriented. i put up a post yesterday that had a more in depth review of what i've seen so far.

As i said on shanking fools recent thread, mw3 has entered retarded mode campaign wise,russian invasion...
And they invade the east coast,i think the european UNION would notice an airboarn invasion passing through it's skies.
But,the campaigns are fun.
The online:terrible,akimbo,kill streaks,dumb perks,worst impression of modern warfare.
Im buying later just for the campaign.
And while i disagree with the us military policy,as if they'd just kill british commanders,where the makers stoned?
Medal of honours best i think,the last battlefield i like but the new one,did not enjoy it.

Everyone has their opinions, I guess. The story wouldn't bother me. I never really got into them when I played the campaigns. It was always about the current situation, the level I was on. Just like the Resistance series. I did read a review that said the multi-player wasn't much of an improvement over MW2, or BO for that matter. It didn't deliver the game-changing stuff like the others did. But I'll see for myself. Guys from the other board I go to have gotten it already. I'm picking up my copy during lunch today.

For me,campaign is my preference,if its multiplayer campaign,even better(online campaign i mean,and i know cod isnt),and if the onlines good,excellent,full house.
Campaigns my perogative though.
Im only intending on getting 1 game imediately,im in no financial situation to throw money around right now =(

Also you platinumed Resistance 2 right? how long did it take you to get all the kills, & max co-op lv. also did u get Resistance 3?

let me preface this by saying that this my opinion and not fact. for me, MW3 is worth the money. the multiplayer is so much fun and the new game variant (Kill Confirmed) puts a whole different spin on TDM. the campaign is crazy fast paced and never ever slows down. i hated missions like Favela in MW2 because the guys never stopped spawning and it ruined the gameplay, that does not happen in MW3. the gun layouts in multiplayer offer more customization through proficiencies and the strike packages. bottom line: if you want to get a game that has fast, adrenaline rush gameplay, hop on MW3.
Battlefield's campaign is fun as well but does not have the cinematic feel the MW3 does. Battlefield's multiplayer is still odd for me to get into. 

If you already have black ops or modern warfare 2, I'd skip it. If not, get it. I already have black ops so I'm set. I think that Call of Duty games keep getting released on the same engine and it could get repetitive as far as gameplay goes. Its a great engine, its just that it might be getting a little overused on the third game which is essentially the same as the first with the same engine and gameplay.

I probably wont get MW3, but will play the coop spec ops. when a friend picks it up. I don't play many FPS but I am currently loving BF3. The campaign felt weak (and IMO was a ripoff of black ops campaign) but the multiplayer is probably my favourite from a fps, I all ready have over 70 hours into it. I do enjoy COD games, but I can't see myself putting down battlefield anytime soon. To me the difference between the games is that BF3 is more realistic while COD is more arcade-ish. Piloting jets and helicopters beats calling in kill streak rewards any day. I'm not knocking MW3, i'm sure most people will enjoy it (and I probably will when I play it at a friends house) I just prefer battlefield. Back in the day I chose Counter Strike over Quake, I just enjoy realism more.

Nope. I would buy it but really I can not buy the game. I have a little brother that tries to be just like whatever he see's on the TV and my parents do not like that. Other wise I probably would.

UserMike : Yes, I platinumed R2. I do have Resistance 3 and I've also got a platinum for it.

The multiplayer is essentially the same, but the new additions and changes make it a lot better. Being able to don a juggernaut suit is fun. People fire at you right away when they first see you, realize what you are, then run away only to be shot in the back. And when you and 2 other teammates are running it your team is pretty much unstoppable.

I don't have Wodern Warfare 3, and won't be getting it. Besides the fact that online play with FPS is terrible for me, I refuse to pay for xBox live. Also, I'm pretty sick of hearing about this game. In PE, that's all a few kids would talk about. They skipped out after first period to gome and play it, I think. I hope they got caught (meheheh).

Nope. As someone else has already said, it runs on all the same engines and it could have just been an expansion pack. BF3 is better in my opinion anyway, and I won't even buy that because it is also minimally better than BC2.
