thenumberone : That's what is typically accepted, but I believe that dinosaurs did exist with at the time of Creation. Genesis 1:24 says, "And God said, 'Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.' And it was so." (NIV) Why shouldn't this include the dinosaurs?

AuraBlaze : well because they'd seriously munch the other animals,so theres only 2 of every clean animal and 7 of unclean. So there are 2 cows, they cant outrun half the carnivorous dinosaurs so theyd be extinct within a week.

thenumberone : Um. Uh. I'm sorry, but I honestly could not tell if that was a serious reply. I'll just continue with the discussion. The dinosaurs, not even carnivores, would not have tried eating other animals in the beginning. Genesis 1:29-30 "Then God[, speaking to Adam,] said, 'I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.' And it was so." These verses say that all creatures, and humans, were only to eat plants at the time. It is not until after the Great Flood that God gave Noah and his family permission to eat animals. (Genesis 9:3) "Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything." I would imagine that when God allowed Noah to eat "everything that lives and moves about" it also applied to the animals as well.

As for what you said, there may be some truth in that.

AuraBlaze : i was being serious, just threw some humour in.
well that may be but clearly animals have long since been eating meat and they have found dinosaurs with the remains of there meals so if the dinosaurs are there(the carniverous ones) theres a very real chance they would wipe out most of the other animals.

I enjoy coming up with my own theories for the mysteries of life.
My theory of what killed the dinosaurs is evolution.
I'm always hearing about how tyrannosaurus rexes are related to chickens and stuff like that, so I think that they adapted to climate changes and different food shortages. For example if herbivores were adapting to be harder to eat then carnivorous animals would be forced to either became more deadlier or start eating plants, and that's what they did, you know, to survive.
Other examples of food shortages start more in the base of the food chain. When continents started to shift (this is happening today), so did climates. Areas that moved towards the poles got colder and those that moved to the equator got warmer. Plants would die from too cold or too hot temperature, and so would the animals that eat those plants would start to die off or adapt and change.
This climate change theory explains how penguins, which live in some of the coldest environments, can't fly, and eat strictly fish, can be closely related to birds such as the snowy owl which lives on the other side of the PLANET, flies, and eats rodents on a regular basis.
Although, this theory is flexible. This could have been more dramatic than I originally thought. Something like an ice age or a volcano could have been results of this theory, and a meteor could have sparked this whole thing.

So umm... yeah evolution. Sorry for making this so long, I didn't think I had such a strong opinion on this!

Like what a lot of people say; meteor shower. That's not the only thing that killed dinosaurs, volcanoes started to erupt, the continents moving away from each other, basically the earth was changing.

I honestly think that the meteor that was just gigantic, it could have killed it, some say that the dust clouded up the sky and killed the rest off, since they are reptiles and need warmth, that made the world cold.

I believe that it was either a meteorone mile in diameter, a serious climate change, and/or Chuck Norris.

I think it had to do with a huge volcanic eruption, blanketing the earth with ash. It makes sense; without any sunlight coming through all life would die and the entire world would freeze.

I suppose a large meteor is plausible, too.

My guess would be a giant meteor or maybe something else. Probably something to do with the earth's climate or maybe some kinda dinosaur holocaust that happened out of nowhere, nobody will ever know the truth what actually happened to them.

I think that the meteor that fell from space killed most of the dinosaurs but the remaining survivors all died of diseases and starvation.

One of the more recent hypothesize is disease. When  large animals become congested (in numbers) they are more susceptible to transmitting viruses or other parasitic pathogens like nematodes.

Well at first I thought it was due to climate changes, but really it was a wave of meteors that killed them.

I have heard of several theories, but to kill that many species and life on earth? I think that a disease wouldn't be able to effect that much of a variety. That leads me to stick with the meteor theory for now. Who knows? In the future much more compelling evidence may revolutionize the way we believe the dinosaurs were wiped out.

For me I believe in either the meteor or disease theory. I seen some T.V show about the disease theory and how some people believed as time went on the dinosaurs migrated to other lands and got others sick from disease that they did not have an immunity for the different diseases. This is a really scary question to me because whatever killed the dinosaurs I think will kill the human population.

Well, there has been tons of theories about how the dinosaurs had become extinct. I agree with this theory:  A giant asteroid had smash into the Earth and spread large tsunami waves across the world. I agree with this theory.

epic-san : I believe that you wouldn't have to capitalize "giant meteorite." It's just my opinion.
