if david did it so that all normal members had there set amount of votes, then manually put in the mods, elites etc, (or you, youre admin after all)then the only way the points would change is if someone manually changed it.
you could have it so that points can only increase, not decrease, so if someone had there rank decrease, that would be done manually anyway and you could take the points too.
you could also make it so you can be staff and elite.

I believe it might be best if we keep non-staff members (aside from Elites) from giving points at all to prevent abuse. While it is true that nearly anyone can become Site Staff to help around the RGR, it would still be relatively easy to track what they do (I assume)--including giving trust points. As we already know, Trusted Members can earn their ability to give others points too easily. If they are able to give anyone points, they could still go around asking others for trust points and give other the rank of trusted --even if trusted members can only give one point each. AuraBlaze : that is something I am considering doing. However putting the decision in the hands of 25 people rather than 50-100 will limit how many people become trusted members. And on a site this big I would prefer that the trusted members had some say in who is or isn't a trusted member. Still, the system is not set in stone so this could change at any time.

When i was talking about the amount of points not being able to decrease,i meant the amount you could add or subtract,so if an elite became a rgr staff there points wouldnt change.

I think local moderators+ should be responsible for TP use. All would be given a certain power, and you'd need to look good to a good amount of staff to be trusted.

You had enough TP to stay trusted despite the change. That means you can be called a trusted member.

Not a lot of people lost trusted status, so really you shouldn't feel too bad for them. Odds are they will hit 10 TP sooner or later =)

It's because of this I can defend a user who is generally awesome but doesn't have a ton of activity over a user who may be active, but provides very little back to the community.
