Well, there's this nasty storm outside, 4 alerts according to weather.com, which include 2 on urban flooding, significant weather, and some rip current thing. So this gave me an idea for a thread.

Not too long ago there was this storm, my news channel was like "get your shutters and craps", and when it was supposed to hit...

It didn't.

Has anything like this ever happen to you?

Well sometimes the prediction comes true...sometimes...almost true....(they would say that the trajectory is not normal..it just did an unexpected U turn....a totally different direction..from what was expected...)...maybe they work on some probability....(all an idea of big probabilities)

The weather and news channels are only right about 20% of the time I would guess. A better question would be when are they right? I tend to just expect the opposite of what they predict (i.e. Hurricane Irene @ NJ).
