I realize that there is a lot of people on Vizzed that goes to school or college.  I suppose that I would like to ask this question because it is what a lot of students experience.  Surprisingly, I never go to sleep during school.  It seems embarrassing since a teach would either wake you up silently or loudly to be funny or students would laugh or something.  My parents say that I have fallen asleep before in class, but they do not know that because they do not watch me in school.  So that is why I have not slept in class before.  I have been drowsy and sleepy, but never fallen asleep.  How often do you sleep in class?

Since I've been at the University I've been having a very difficult time staying awake all the way through my longest class, Geology. The only way I ever make it all the way is when I nap right before it, but that just ends up messing up my sleep schedule for other classes.

When I was in High School I rarely slept in most classes, but I had certain classes that I would almost invariably doze off in. My Freshman year I had Latin 1 first period, and although the teacher was exciting, intelligent, and engaging, I don't remember much of the class after the first quarter as I began to fall asleep in there every day. My Junior year I had Honors Precalculus, and my teacher was likewise intelligent but not so engaging. Her voice was like sleeping gas to me, and I literally had fewer than two weeks' worth of her classes that I stayed awake all the way through. That, combined with my pre-existing condition, (called the "I never did any homework or projects for any class ever and only learned by paying attention in class" disease) is why this was the only class I ever failed. I passed the final Exam though. xD

When i was at school i never fell asleep in class,came close but,i was there to learn,not sleep

thenumberone : You make it sound like we do it on purpose, lol. If I didn't want to learn about Geology I wouldn't have taken it, and I definitely wouldn't attend the lectures.

I don't sleep that much in class. My bus ride is usually long, so I tend to sleep while riding.

Sometimes I sleep while a video is going on or something, since usually the lights are off and the teacher recaps at the end.

No, I haven't slept in class yet. I somehow keep myself awake, despite all of the boredom I get during class. x3

I don't sleep in class. I'm usually awake enough by then. Plus, I'm forced to bed at 11, so I get some sleep every night. The coffee helps.

I never sleep in class. When a teacher spots me sleeping, I get a detention. My friend most likely to sleep in class. it is really funny to look at him.

I've come pretty close to drfitng off, but I never sleep in class.

I have only fallen asleep once and that was for a few minutes during a study hall period junior year of high school. There have been almost countless times after that where I was close to dozing off, but managed to shake myself partially awake. If I am really tired I'll sleep between classes. In high school, I managed by sleeping on the way to school and back. It was a 45 minute drive either way, so it fit my schedule quite nicely

I have seen a lot of kids fall asleep in class, but the most comical incident was when one actually started snoring. Otherwise the teacher normally will not notice or pretend not to notice.

The only time I've actually fell asleep during class was recently, and I was extremely exausted since the previous night were full of partying by other dorm residents so the ground were shaking from them jumping up and down and running around when a staff goes up and check on them. I stayed awake until around 4 AM, and 6 AM is when I'm supposed to wake up, haha.

Not very often. I have had it happen before but it is not something that you will see me doing consistently in class. I do not like to do it because it is a waste of being there if I am going to sleep it will be in study hall that is about it...

I rarely if ever slept in class. It had to be that boring for me to sleep. I think I've dozed off twice. Once in English, and I think in math. I only dozed for a minute I think.

Well, I did a couple times last year, but I realized that sleeping through classes is unpleasant. You don't know anything that was taught, your eyes look like you just emerged from REM, there may even be a puddle of drool at your feet.

So I've been working on different ways to stay entertained in class, whether it be visiting Vizzed on my phone, reading, or working on homework for other classes.

Not really ....I would say..I always try to follow up..but I do remember at college at some point I would attend college up to only less than about five months..

I pretty much always slept in class. It was when I got ALL my sleep during high school.

I slept maybe 3 hours a night back then, and got 1 more on the way to school on the bus. 3 more hours during school. 1 more on the way home from school. I still got my 8 hours =)

I rarely fall asleep, but I am good at it. I trained myself to be able to lean on my hand and look like I'm awake when I'm actually mostly asleep. I'm still partially awake, so if the teacher asks me a question, I'm awake enough to pretend I just wasn't listening without looking like I'm waking up.

I haven't fallen asleep in class since middle school. Though in high school, I've come close several times to falling asleep, but I know how to at least make it look like I wasn't only paying attention in class. IT works wonders, and most teachers like me enough to give me a break hen they think I'm actually falling asleep.
