The anime has become somewhat more serious, yet funny, but not stupid and filler like it has been in previous generations. Ash and his partners are somewhat smarter, and the situations more unique. And it doesn't take him 6 months to get to the next gym anymore.

Although I don't expect it to get as good as it did in the first couple seasons.

They need him to get a rival that is like a master strategist and like completely crush Ash at his best (this should be around the same time as the Unova tournament or whatever) Hopefully this will help wake him up and make Ash realize a lot of the mistakes that he tends to make.

I watch it on the Internet not cartoon network . I have to say that the
first season was pretty lame . Only a few episodes were really good
and you can obviously see that Ash barely uses Pikachu to battle
anymore . He mostly focuses on using tepig than snivy . I hope the
second season is better and so far it started out pretty good with
the legendary following him around . I just wish Ash would catch it already
since the legendary likes him " a LOT " .
