This is interesting. I've never heard of this site before. I'll have to check it out and answer your questions. This post may be pointless at the moment, but I'll check it out and give some feed back.

Ok, I've did a quick scan and downloaded one game to see if it works. So far it's working properly and hadn't had a threat pop up, but I still advise to be careful. Curious about one thing. Is this another of your site? Or something you came across?

1) It has a lot of choices in the library, many games are there specially for the die hard, Mario and Zelda fans, but tones of others along with some Atari games that you had to unfortunately let go.

2) The navigations is pretty smooth. I'm having no problem jumping page to page. I wouldn't worry about getting lost except for a few places. Well, at least for me that is.

3) The pages load pretty quick and I even have a very slow computer. It loads literally in 1 second. It hasn't slowed on me yet so the speed is very good.

4) The site looks decent. Very nice blue and pictures as such, but it could use some improvements on the game library look.

5) Just like my last post. ^ But the only down side I've seen on the game pages from what I've seen so far. There are no screen shots on any of the games I've checked. There are some Mario games I've never heard of and I don't know what it even looks like with the lack of screen shots and pictures for the games.

6) Well, I found this site through your thread. I've never heard of this place until now. Lol

7) This is my first time checking this site out. It catches my interest, but I don't think I'll be going there to much.

8)  Well, I visit one other site, but that's about it. I occasionally pay a visit to Cool Roms

9) The main thing I see that needs improvement on so far is the screen shots for the video games it haves. Other than that. It's pretty cool.

10) I've only downloaded one game from get-your-rom so far and that's Pokemon Emerald Version with three Zip files. Some of the games on different console emulators haves more than three Zip files. So far, it's playing decently for me.

This is a site I co-own with JigSaw.

I have a few suggestions
Instead of the 10 random isos it could be most popular or most downloaded. And emulators like X Box 360 aren't even made yet so the download page for it probably isn't necessary and is just taking up space. I really like the new layout for the web page. And this is just a suggestion but emulator like:Magnavox Odyssey 2,Dragon 32/64,Pokemon Mini Emulators and a lot more aren't even played or heard of. So I highly doubt it will get many downloads or views so maybe remove some unnecessary emulators.
Other than that the pages load a lot quicker than I thought they would and I really like how you can add screenshots and reviews that's a great feature. So i'm really impressed with the work you and JigSaw did.

hackerman : The 10 random is a great way to get some of our game pages indexed.  Even if those lesser known systems aren't popular, GYR being one of the very few sites to have them is what I think gives us just another reason why we're better than the competition.

After I go into a system page, it says "Forbidden", and it won't let me back in.

I like what I can see of the index page, looks very well polished. I'll provide more feedback if possible later.

JigSaw : Any idea what alex is talking about?

Davideo7 : I'm aware of it and not sure why it does it but it seems to fix itself if you wait a minute or keep refreshing. I will have to look into it.

JigSaw : If your site is using Apache server then its possible that the mod_evasive module is set to sensitively to image and user page requests.

I hope these helped. also i encountered a major issue on the roms page. when i navigated to the PS2 roms i see the words LIVE in green letters that to me says "Oh yeah free download!!!" However upon my arrival to the page of a listed top 10 "most downloaded" rom I find no download link at all with no screenshots!!!

This is very annoying. It says most downloaded yet what are these people downloading? there is no link to click on.

Its like that on every Rom pages index page. Very sloppy positioning.
also you may want to look into a SSL  Certificate as that would add a layer of privacy protection to your users. Also on the register account page the password box is not protected using *************** or those dots.

Thought i would bring all this to your attention for consideration.

I like it, I downloaded the Epsxe emulator and with this page I can download my favorite games from my childhood.

I haven't tried it yet....it may be better than the websites I been using before.

The search bar never works for me - it will only go to the letter sort, but show no results.

There's a lot of stuff that JigSaw hasn't finished and I'm not sure when he will.

Well other than that I'll download from there from time to time because it still has a huge selection of roms and isos, it's just that I have to do a google search with the keywords 'get-your-rom.com' before the game's title, which usually works, in order to avoid searching through the pages.

tRIUNE : Yeah I really hope JigSaw can fix this. I actually plan to transfer the site to a new server which has less restrictions and could potentially give us the space to add more games. Maybe once we're on the new server, he'll feel motivated to finish the search engine and a few other features he never finished.

It is a good site with plenty of games. The game library, navigation, load time, and game pages are good. The site itself doesn't look bad, but it is plain. I found the site through vizzed and I don't visit the site anymore. There aren't any problems,I haven't downloaded any games, and I don't visit any other sites. I would download games if I didn't need to delete it the next day. Also you should add ps one games to vizzed.

Here's my take on this site after playing with it for close to 20 minutes. Let's start with the bad.

1. Navigation: When I click "...ISOS" under "Main Navigation", it gives me a list of every single system. Same with ROMS. CD/DVD = ISOS and ROMS = cartridges.
    Clicking Emulators give me a list of...games? This confuses me lol. I'm thinking PCSX2/ePSXe/JNES/etc. would show up.

2. This may not be "bad" but, no RESIDENT EVIL for PSX!
    This being said, read the Good.

3. Where do I click on that site to learn how to become a VIP Member?

4. I download about 15% (around 80MB) of FFVIII disc one then stopped the download. It says on top of page I used 535.99MB / 750MB of bandwidth. That is false.

5. ROMS, ISOS, EMUS...Couldn't this area be like an interactive tree (clicking reveals sub-tree)? Kinda like this:

v Consoles
      > PSX
      > NES
      > Genesis
      > Etc.

v Handhelds
      > Gameboy
      > Etc.

I think you get the idea. This is really just a suggestion. I think what you have currently makes me feel like I'm scrolling forever just to get to where I wanna go. Eg; SNES. This would eliminate that imo.


The Good:

1. Tested download speed by download FFVIII (as mentioned) and speeds were nice. Highest I got was 885 KB/s but avg speed prob around 790-800KB/s. Didn't test with a Download Manager.

2. A lot of games. But still missing RESIDENT EVIL lol. Still needs a little improvement with games in a couple areas. However you will find just about anything your searching for.

3. Searching for games makes it easier to find the one you're looking for. Though the search brings up some irrelevant results in some cases.

Anyway, that's all I have to say. Idk if I answered any of your questions but just wanted to share my thoughts. Clicked a couple ads to support the site a tad. GL with the site

I like it. I was finally able to locate some files that I was unable to get my hands on anywhere else. Having more obscure roms etc. will definitely pull in more people, as it can be frustrating to look for some classics. Thumbs up, bro.
